High-Low Swinging

GM RN, only with a retest of the trigger point at 1.3823. I would scale down to 30M and wait for a setup there to enter.

Alright… Do keep us updated

Sure RN, Will do.

Was on the road and missed this opportunity on the 30M chart to add to EU shorts. Posting for the purposes of understanding for those following this method.

Have a Great Weekend and Happy Trading All!

Hi Bank,

very happy to see you moving on from TMB’s harmonic thread and sharing strategies of your own. All the best with it! I must thank you for your contributions to that thread, i learned a lot from your questions and general input and it has helped me in my understanding of harmonic trading.

Coming back to this thread, can i ask where you have got your fractual indicator from? im not too familiar with it, but i do have a fractual indicator on my fxcm marketscope platform, however it looks rather different to yours.

Also if you could point me towards any reading material regarding chaos fractal i would be most grateful. Simplicity in trading is key for me so this method naturally appeals.

Thanks

Hi Lil pip, I am glad to hear that my contributions have been of help. TMB has an excellent thread and I have learnt from him but its important to know your trading style and what best suits it. I am using the VT Trader platform, so thats why my fractals look different from yours, but they work the same way. This is a good link to get a basic idea of how fractals work Forex Fractals (chaos) trading indicator. Thanks and all the best to you too.

Took profits on Friday at T1. We are now sitting below the tricky 89% resistance (1.6117). If we fail to break this level, shorts are on toward the 1.5900 area (T2).

Hi Bank,

can you kindly clarify my understanding of this entry system. i have added my interpretation of a long entry on the GU that formed today, please let me know if i am reading this correctly…

http://my.jetscreenshot.com/4521/20110228-arap-121kb.jpg

Using the fractal indicator to enter on a PVSL, you can see the fractal low and the higher low that defined the pattern. i would then enter on the break of the high of the higher low with TP levels set at 144%, 210% and so forth of the recent swing high to the higher fractal low.

http://my.jetscreenshot.com/4521/20110228-gzjf-107kb.jpg

Using the fibonacci tool to enter on the completion of a fractal pattern, i would enter on the retrace of 11% from the last swing high to the low of the fractal higher low and target 55% of that swing. my SL would be 10 pips below the low of the higher low.

I hope that with the added charts you understand what i mean. please let me know if i am following this method correctly?

Many thanks

GM lil pip,

Your first entry, on the high of the PVSL candle is fine, only that I wait for a break of it and a retract to it before entering. I am not clear on where you have drawn your fibs on the second chart of where you entered. Please clarify. Just saw it yes that’s fine, not seeing your target levels though. Good Trade!

Thanks for the quick reply Bank,

So on the first chart would you have entered long on the big red candle or waited for the next candle to trade above the support line of the higher low before entering?

on the second chart, i drew the fibs from the high of the candle with the green fractal to the low of the higher low fractal. in which case i guess you would wait for a retracement to the 11% level before entering? and then moving SL to b/e once the 55% level is hit?

I missed this trade, however yes, the entry would have been on that big red candle. For the 11% trade, if you got a BUY candle pattern, you would fib from the high of the previous fractal to the low of that candle, and buy the retrace to the 11%. Yes the best thing is to move your stop to BE after the 55% is hit. If it is a small swing then you can use the 89 and 100% as your BE levels.

Sorry for the 101 Q’s… but just to be clear, in a long entry, we fib from the HIGH of the low fractal candle to the LOW of the higher low candle?

also, how many candles apart do we allow for a higher low or lower high to validate an entry? and what are the rules for placing initial SL for the PVSL/PVSH method?

thanks for the patience Bank

Good Morning lil pip! Sorry for the delayed response, I was under much pressure at work yesterday. I also have not been able to access this site. Dont know if anyone else had the same problems. I have tried responding a number of times and it says page not available. Anyhow, for Long entries, you fib from the high of the last fractal high to the current low and vice versa for shorts. Stops are placed below PVSL candles for Longs, above PVSH for shorts and below the 0% for 11% longs or above the 0% for 11% shorts. Hope I have answered your questions, no problem with the questions by the way.

Can anyone help? I am having some trouble with my internet. It has slowed down suddenly and I cannot access some sites. It takes very long or eventually times out or says page not available.

Not to worry, got my machine cleaned up.
