Hobby, semi and full pro?

It’s probably been covered before but my search skills, or lack of, didn’t result in anything so I thought I’d ask the question - are you a hobbiest, a semi-pro or a full time professional trader?

Definitions I guess are roughly:

Hobby - demo and/or live micro/mini accounts.
Semi-pro - live micro and/or mini, profitable long term.
Pro - any size account, long term profit, this is your day job.

The reason I ask is that I’m looking to go ‘pro’, I’ve been studying and practise trading for 7 months, I took the plunge last week and went live on a mini account $500, currently up $100 in a week on mini lots. In retrospect, that would be $5,000 and $1,000 in full size lots.

I’m looking to see how others are getting on, it’d be interesting to hear your trading life stories, success or otherwise.

Did you junk a day job to go pro, are you building up to this point or are you trading to compliment your income etc?

I’m trading live right now and I guess I would fall into your hobby category. Really all that I’m working on right now with my trading is staying profitable, I’ve only been profitable since late June/early July as well as building up margin in my account so I can take bigger trades. It’s going to take time but I plan on becoming a pro eventually. I started trading in March of 09.
