I was told that because it was Good Friday the liquidity was terrible
The market low today in CAD/JPY was about 85.53. My stop sell order was filled at 85.47 at 1:53:33. That is at least a 6 pip jump against me on a pair that usually has an Oanda spread of around 1.6.
And that 6 pips is supposed to be half, so the full spread that was about 12!
I guess because it was close to the close it was even worse, but can anyone else corroborate that their broker’s pip spread was awful on Good Friday? I would appreciate knowing that. Thanks.
Hey @Bry777, sorry to hear about that. I personally got a mail from my broker with respect to the widening spread due to the thin nature of the market during the holidays. As a rule, spreads generally widen during holidays.
