not feeling better today… staying away from trading real money while medicated.
Ok…so I could NOT completely stay away from trading. Trying to “overthink” these trades to make up for Fog Brain. Honestly, I’m more concerned about messing up my tracking spreadsheet than I am about bad trading. I manually enter 7 key factors, as a way of breakdown analysis.
So far, all the numbers match…
Edit…Found several mistakes. Think I corrected them all
Overall, trading wise, it was a great week. Not nearly as many trades as a normal week, but I attribute that to the “Super Flu” my grandkids left me with. Normally, I can look at a chart and determine if it is in the “range”, but the Fog Brain had me doubting and double checking everything.
One move I made, which is not against any rules but something I have never done…I closed 2 slow-moving but potentially profitable trades at just above breakeven, to add to a fast moving slightly negative trade, which had moved back into the range. It worked out wonderfully.
I was too close to a record week not to try right? Took 2 additional trades to push it over the top.
Starting to feel human again…can’t wait for the upcoming week of trading. Went back and scoured the spreadsheet finding more mistakes I made, but I think I captured and corrected them all. These were not trading mistakes in any way…just input errors. Suffice it to say, I take my journaling and statistics very seriously, but errors were bound to happen as ill as I was.
Someone asked if I considered it “dangerous” to trade when I was not clear headed…yes and no. My rule set keeps me humble and in control, even being that sick. If I was going to change anything… wait to input the data into the spreadsheet. Finding and fixing my errors was rough.
Week 6 of 8 begins. I’m feeling much better and clear headed. And we are off to a good start.
Good Morning babypips! No open trades at the moment and nothing even close to “In Range” Time for coffee and morning news.
I did pick up 2 small trades before I went to sleep last night. Closed the EUR/GBP because it was stuck in the mud and i was tired.
Someone asked, and I know I mentioned it a few weeks ago, if I post absolutely every trade I am making.
During this 8-week experiment…yes.
I am simply drag and dropping everything from my trading platform into my Spreadsheet…cleaning any confidential data, and posting
Into the Monday Doldrums…All trades are closed with a very good start to the week. On days like today, when it seems you cannot miss (rare I know) you don’t want to stop trading. But follow your rule set…and mine says dont trade during the Doldrums…so I wont.
The week so far…
Not much going on today…3 trades running but nothing progressing currently. Might be a good day to hit golf balls.
Well…
I just sat on a trade for 48 hours and made a good profit, but I’m really happy about the SL I set for overnight. The Price came within 23 but that was the pad I put on the SL…to the number. Fun stuff.
Solid day trading. Some of the moves maybe could have been better, but they worked, and I’ll never complain about a winning day. As this experiment has been going, I notice my trades becoming more confident but smaller in PIP size…which is perfectly fine as the amount per pip is climbing quickly.
Morning coffee trade went well for a small profit, but I think I’m not trading until after the Doldrums today. It looks like US GDP knocked the markets around and the tariff news is doing what it does.
Was a fantastic week trading. I’m being called into the Golf Course today, so no trading. I’ll post a full recap for the week later tonight. My last 3 trades for the week all closed overnight at TP…fun
What a great week of trading. I KNOW there will be weeks where the opposite is true, but I am going to relish in this week that was for a minute.
I’ve notice I do not really have a style of trading (scalp, swing, hold…), in fact, most styles were represented this week alone. What determines the trade style for any particular trade are multiple factors…time trade was entered, where in the range the trade was entered, impending news release, etc.). Some trades this week were held for 3-4 minutes, while others were held for over 48 hours. It makes sense to me, but ask if you have questions and I’ll do my best to explain.
Two weeks left, but if things continue like they have for the past 6 weeks, I will be dropping the word…experiment!
Week 7 of 8…This week will begin at the Golf Course, but I will be trading late tonight. It is an odd week for me, as I have to be at the Golf Course a lot in order to train my replacements. The big move is only 4 weeks away. Can’t wait to get to Coure D’Alaine.
Monday morning coffee. These trades take place during the time it takes me to make my morning coffee and settle into my spot for the day. Depending on the dogs, this can be anywhere from 5 min to an hour…lol
Morning session still rolling. Feeling very positive this morning…odd considering I didn’t sleep all that great last night. No reason…just not the best sleep for some reason.
Found a way to screen shot my trading platform without needing to do a bunch of Confidentiality editing. Let me know if this is easier to read than my spreadsheet screen grabs.
