How do i go about starting a journal after started trading?

So i started trading few months back. Was told to keep a journal but didn’t know how to and found it tedious. Now am willing to start one but you know now i have a few months of trades that i would need to journal and some videos advise you to record market volitality and all that jazz and i don’t know how i am ever going to find such information.

journal trading is a record of your own trading activity to keep. your trading history is also the journal. but that’s not put any details on how you trading activity. when they write i down a journal, it’s more like a ‘diary’ of how start the trade, why do you entry, and also the exit strategies. it’s for a evaluation purpose.

Could you reccomend me some software that tells you exactly how to do it?

What you should record down?

Use any format you are comfortable with, even an excel sheet with screenshots of trading charts would do

one version.

Its best to start now and learn from your mistake of not keeping one from the start when you thought it was tedious. I think you should add more to a journal than just which trades you took, write down why you took them and everything that influenced you to take a particular trade. You can’t possible know what you thought/felt/influenced you a few months back so start from now and go forward.

In having a trade journal you need to understand the reason for keeping one. A trade journal helps as a constant reminder of your trading performance it also helps you to keep focus. A trading journal should contain every step you take in each trade.
