STP brokers earn spreads only but the minimum deposit is not affordable and ECN brokers earn a fixed fee, between 1 to 20 USD, it might sound much but if you are trading millions a fixed fee is a bargain compared to spread wich is a percentage of traded lots.
The commission is usually based on every round turn of 100000 units. So it increases as your volume increases, how much you have in your account won’t mean anything except for how many you can afford to trade.
Forex broker earn from spread but the brokers which trade against the traders may earn from traders’ loss as well. The number of such brokers is very less.
