Got some good answers on how long people think forex will be around, now I’m curious, how long do you think retail forex will be around? In the US anyways.
This is much harder to answer!
I think it will depend on the regulatory climate, and that in turn depends on how the people pretending to be brokers behave and how dishonest and unethical they are.
What’s normal is that industries in which a lot of participants “behave badly” get over-regulated, and if they still continue to “behave badly” they can regulated out of existence.
We clearly see this happening, gradually, worldwide, with Binaries.
And there’s a slight tendency towards it with retail forex, also.
I think that will depend partly on the eventual “anti-Trumpism” backlash, too.
But it’s too early to predict anything about that, probably.
Good question, though.
There’s no indication that it’s going anywhere, but like LukasVisser just stated, we think the regulatory environment will be the driving force here. Now with the following bit of news, at least one more broker still believes there’s retail business to be done in the U.S.
