How often do you get a trade

Hello guys, so after two years of learning and demo trading and cracking my head I finally got a strategy that works, I’ve been using it since June and I have not lost a single trade.
But the problem with this strategy is that, I hardly get a trade. In

June 2019: four trades
July 2019: Two trades
August 2019: Two trades

For this month I’ve not gotten any trade at all, don’t get me wrong, I don’t have a problem waiting but, what I want to know is that if it is always like this for profitable traders, because I feel like there are people out there cashing out on those pips daily and I’m just here watching and letting those pips fly past me everyday.

SO MY QUESTION IS THAT, HOW OFTEN DO PROFITABLE TRADERS GET A TRADE?

it depends on your trading rules. Not every profitable trader trades the same way. You can start testing out other methods on demo, but it’s all about what makes sense to you in the end

If you’re looking to increase your wealth without taking excessive risk, this level of trade signals is inadequate.

Let’s suppose you want to double your account in 1 year. That means increasing it by 6% per month. But in practice, you should only be risking maximum 2% of your account capital per trade and although you might have a positive risk:reward ratio, you cannot possibly expect a 100% win rate.

Don’t measure your performance against other traders, but eight trades in 3 months isn’t going to make you much profit.

True, but I’ve read and heard that less is more in Forex, I’ve also read on the internet that most profitable trading strategies won’t give you much signals. That, patience is the key to trading.

I’m not sure you have thought through the arithmetic.

What you have is a true systen… Trust your process its doing you well don’t get caught up on other people

Alternatively you could have a hedge fund strategy by automating this passive process and manually trade to collect those pips you want

Your post is refreshing, most guys learning are searching for a roll and patience plays second fiddle.

My ‘trades’ are different to yours and likely you are using TA whereas I use FA (combined to a degree with levels etc).

Your trades are way more frequent than mine, yet I have to watch the market at least twice per day, or more when there is news.

You have a useful tool in leverage, use it and learn even more :slight_smile:

@Simeonquant
Can you please elaborate more on the Hedge fund strategy, I’m interested

@peterma
"Your trades are more frequent than mine" Really?
You must be a really patience guy then.
Tanks for the advice
