Just thought I would post a little update after a full day in the market Well, I can definitely report that no matter how successful or confident you are with your performance in a demo acct., it will do absolutely nothing, zip, nada for ya [emotionally] when you finally go live with your own hard earned $$.
[ul]
[li]All the mental stops I used to use: OUT the window!
[/li][li]Kicking back confidently while drinking coffee as my acct goes, Cha-Ching: OUT.
[/li][/ul]
[ul]
[li]Freaking out when you have a $800 draw down: IN.
[/li][li]Being so nervous you accidentally squeeze your mouse and inadvertently knock yourself out of position… with a loss: IN.
[/li][li]Drawing and redrawing S&R lines, triangles…etc over and over because you’re not sure: IN.
[/li][li]Blowing a +$160 bal only to find yourself -$49 two minutes later: IN.
[/li][li]Wondering if you have what it takes: IN.

:eek::eek:
Time for some more study and testing. No way am I giving up.
33 - but have been into trading since I was in college. I worked at ABN AMRO’s interbank desk briefly after clerking in the CME IMM currency futures floor.
I have just turned 41.
I am 31 and looked into Forex a few years ago but it didn’t really interest me. Recently, I was drawn to it again and now learn something new everyday.
I commend the younger people on this forum for getting interested in trading. Just remember not to get caught up in the millions or you will be disappointed. Set a realistic goal and you will enjoy trading.
A few things I have learned with more experience and exposure:
Have fun trading everyone!
Well, Guyz I am 20 years old Trying to see if I can buy a bmw m3 and pay off my school with this stuff.
Today, I celebrate the beginning of my twenty-two… 21 yrs gone.
I’m 31 and almost 1 year in forex…
I didn’t know people could trade currencies online with such small amounts of money to start with until 2 weeks ago.
I am convinced I can make a lot of money being a forex trader but we will see. Time will Tell.
Im 28 years old and barely know what a pip is - for now.
I can’t believe nobody took this Nickname yet…
Well - I was 41 at the beginning of last year when I started trading and now I’m (feel) 75!!!
20 and I plan on retiring at 25 with my trading >:]
Studying at least 8 hours a day. I hate working, I can’t spend even 3 months at any job (I’ve done a lot of jobs…) I get bored and it then becomes mind numbing.
I want to travel and just do everything there is to do.
“The one who experiences more, wins”, Robin Sharma.
My current job is alright though… I work at coca-cola, making about CAD 21/hr (only get Sundays currently, but during the summer time I worked every day for 3.5 months, saved some good forex investment money) so I’m taking this opportunity to learn as much as I can while its not busy. I hope in the next four months I can call them up and say I won’t be available to work there anymore >:]
Working hard at my Forex, I hope I can make it.
Great Trading to you’s
TS
18 and still hopeful about FX. For now. Let’s see how all that changes once I go live.
I am 33 and hoping to become and expert on this subject…I will start tomorrow my training routine and will dedicate 4 hrs a day. And later this year full time.
I hope you the best and may the Lord bless you and your tradings
See you at the top!!!
20 years and have studied Forex for a total of 2-3 weeks. Currently trading with Oanda FX-game (demo account) and watching the results I realize that I a have a looong walk ahead of me. Starting a real forex-account right now would be like gamblin’ for me, haha!
Good luck with your trades fellow members.
Just turned 24 and been demo for 3yrs now…Live since 01/07, Glad to say with correct money mngmt,r/r, and position sizing along with my tech anylsis I have been averaging about 1000-2000 weekly with conservative position sizes.
My trading plan is just to increase my risk exposure i.e. more lots per trade but to do that I need to build more capital…
I have a friend of mine that trades commodities contracts of $1m daily!!!
This guy is so loaded he races ferraris for fun and when he wrecks his aftermarket adapted 250k car he just goes buys a new one no sweat!!!
The beauty of compounding
I’ll be 38 next month and just started a demo account 4 days ago. Been reading all I can and learning. Hoping to take this fulltime eventually.
29 married with 2 kids- I spent 5 years studying to be a dentist and then by happenstance I came upon a book on finance. I loved it. I love the idea of compound intrest and having your money work for you instead of working for money. Within the week I had quit school and planned on making it as an entrepreneur. It’s been a tough journey but one that I’m confident will pay off in the end. It took me about a year and a half just to get rid of all my credit card debt. But I’m finally in a position now that I can start investing some of my own money. I’ved loved all the comments they give me hope. Having watched my brother get canned after working too hard for companies that couldn’t care less about him I can see that being an employee is not for me. I’m looking to business and investing as my source of income. I’ve only been studying forex a few days. Very much a newbie and looking forward to the future.
Im 27.Have been trading a demo for 6months plus. Finally deposited funds today. My real account should be active tomorrow.Hoping to be able to trade without emotion - like one does with “Monopoly” money.
Great Forum.
Never too late to start…45 here :)…but I wish I’d known about this years ago although the technology probably wasn’t there then anyways like it is now.
So hoping for “Feedom 55” if not sooner, but then again I have a full time job, kids, & a mortgage so can’t devote a lot of time watchin the charts.
But first things first and demoing until become consistent with it.
