How popular is the term 'lakh'

Hi all, I work in the Global Markets (or treasury) division in a bank. In Malaysia, we use the word ‘lakh’ to denote a unit of 100,000 and it’s commonly used among bankers. It comes from the Indian language.

Just curious to know, is it a jargon among traders in other countries too?
