Hi guys! is there a good software where i can back test systems? i have benn demo traing for the past 4 months, i have my own system, but i want to test it, can i do it with metatrader? what do u suggest?

Yes, MT4 is fine for backtesting, either manual or automated. If you want to automate the task, you need to learn the EA language first. At least I found it more intuitive than some other tools.
I suggest that you test your system manually.Yo can do it @ MT4 platform and i can tell you how to do it.
Take any chart you like,set the time frame that you have quoted in your trading system and roll it back in the past.
Pressing āF12ā will move chart candle by candle.Enter when all parameters of your plan are met.Same is for exit.Keep records of every position that you have enter and exit.After repeating this many times you could tell in how much ātradesā you were right and wrong.Based on this win/lose ratio you can calculate success % of your system.

hi, iām also a noob hereā¦ just want to know. I tried backtesting on MT4. I use eur/usd chart. And i backtest from one single timeframe just fine. So i just come up with a trading system, then I test in on the 15 mins chart.
I only got a 30% winning ratio.
I think I have to check what the price is doing on longer timeframe also. But doing it manually is so hard. Itās also impossible to tell important price trendline from longer timeframe, coz it wonāt show it on the 15 mins. I feel like iām just executing my trade system blindly without understanding anything abt it.
Do you know how to solve this problem in MT4?
If your system is having results like 30% win ratio, that just means youāre being honest. Maybe your system isnāt as great as you first convinced yourself.

The best advice I can give is stick with the way you would trade not knowing the next barā¦ Youāll be honest and youāll get the actual results and maybe some underperforming of the systemā¦but an underperforming system in testing is better than an over performing
yeah. cheating when backtesting is just ridiculous. Does people actually do that?
I think most people do to get a sense of good hopeā¦
when Iāve back tested Iāve always put myself in the worst possible entry and my usual exit or worst exit scenario. The strategy may not look that great when doing it but it deff will look better on a live acct

I have been here that often but I test two systems when I can, I work a 10hr day job so i canāt trade during the eur/us overlap 
I use a daily system which sofar is has a win loss ratio of 5:1, however the risk/reward ratio needs tweaked.
I am also trying an intraday 1-4h system.
Iāve tweaked most of what I find on here to my own style an demo it in real time on MT4
