. I am interested in learning more about trading but my main question is how do you know if an account manager is legit and/or needed?
What type of questions should be asked of a potential candidate?

If by account manager you mean they will trade for you with your money, you do not need them and you should definitely not give them your money.
You are able to trade forex through a broker as a private retail trader, using a client account in which only you can open and close trades.

don’t trust just random person to manage your hard earned money. That shouldn’t even cross your mind.

I agree with @tommor and @justshell. You shouldn’t trust anyone with your money. It would be better to learn how to trade then do it on your own.
