Hello, everyone
I’m a new trader and I’m currently using an IG forex demo account but now completely in love with with it. I see a lot of people us tradingview and/or MT4 or MT5 whichever one there are on now. Did anyone tryout a lot of platforms before arriving at the one they currently use? TIA

I started out on MT4 and liked it because it was user friendly and had an unlimited selection of free indicators. The only problem I had with it was that it was not live, so my analysis did not carry over to different computers (home & work).
So, I decided to switch to TradingView, I did not like the change at first, but their platform grew on me and I now use it for FX and love it. It’s also supported by my broker, OANDA, which is why I chose it. You are limited with what you can do on the free version, but you get the basics and 3 indicators, which is more than I need.
I have 2 other accounts with Questrade; 1 FX and one for stocks, both requiring different platforms altogether as Questrade doesn’t support MT4 or TradingView.
All in all I’m finding that the more experienced I get with trading, the less picky I am about the platform I’m using.
