I think it is amazing what you have done here, and if the broker thought it was an illegal strategy… they should not have let you withdraw the profits, which you clearly have already. I don’t think there is any need to worry, especially 5 years later!!
I don’t think anyone should tell you what to do or should do with your money, that you did earn yourself. Even if it was easy, you still had the idea and executed that idea over many years. Lots of businesses can seem like “cheating” because it is easy but you really need to give credit to yourself for what you pulled off.
I’ve picked up on a lack of appreciation for your position in life. I am not sure if it is the perceived guilt, or just that it was too easy? I noticed you bought a Rolex and some properties, but I’m not sure you feel “fulfilled” from those purchases, maybe I’m wrong. What I have learned in life is that the greatest happiness can come from Giving and seeing their happiness that you helped create. It is so much more rewarding than just having lots of stuff & numbers in the bank accounts, but that is just how I feel, not everyone is like this!
I’m not sure why I had this idea, it is not in my normal character, but would you ever be interested in helping me with my goal of professional (and full-time) trading? My income is barely more than my expenses and so I just don’t have the extra money to get a good size account started. The trading strategy I have been using on my small account has been reliable, but it will take more than 5 or 6 years at current rate to get to my goal to trade full-time.
I do expect you to decline, but I thought I would just humbly present myself as a man in need of help, and see if perhaps fate will be kind to me on this day :51:

I have no idea who “Aaron” is, but this retiredfxtrader is pretty easy to spot as a liar. Image exif data has been stripped, but you can still use reverse image searching to look up the picture of the Rolex and find that it’s been posted on multiple forums over the years.

Okay hum, let’s say i’m like mister nobody and you are mister hasbeen where i’m going to keep it easy then. I do believe it’s possible to make a ****load of money with forex trading but i dont believe it’s for anyone. You need the mindset and you definitely need the patience. Your situation might have been exceptional, that doesn’t mean someone can’t just do that from behind one desk just as well. There’s several brokers who offer swap free trading (and i believe that’s the only way to go just as well). I have a little bit of a moral problem claiming to be muslim since i’m not so im sometimes mailing around to see who will get me swap free without being muslim (in the name of non-discrimination et such) but that was not the point here. Legal or illegal ? It’s a global market, i dont know if any country at all has had laws adapted to it so far but it’s pretty plain. You declare the income you have gotten from it and pay taxes on that, or you don’t. As a consequence of that you get caught or you don’t because there was nothing to catch. I myself have checked the law section on the national tax site already but i’m sure if i were to be creative with it it would be nothing but a grey zone.
Thus : it comes down to : do you feel guilty about it because you did something not everyone is capable of ?
Take the advice from mister nobody here then : DON’T . It’s not your fault you grabbed an opportunity when it passed you, you did and that’s praise worthy imo. If you feel guilty there’s always charity. Pick any single one you can live with and give a little, that should ease any kind of guilt (and also be deductable from taxes in most countries afaik)
And take another word of advice : don’t upload anything as proof, the world is full of jealousy and it’s not because you feel guilty that someone who did have to work those 50 hours a week wouldnt get jealous and leg you over it.
It’s called initiative and talent. Just like you and me, mister nobody will probably never make a very good mechanic its just as possible that mechanic would never make a very good trader.
AS for that playing on the computer, i find myself busy seven days a week, and i have a very irregular sleep pattern, i kinda sleep in shifts since that stuff is on 24/5 and there’s even some exchanges open all week-end now. It comes down to more than 50 hours if you let it and i feel i’m just preparing since i dont have real funds together yet. My eyes are often sore from staring at the screen and my neck and buck hurt sometimes. But it’s not hauling bricks and mortar, right, so what.
You tried, you did, you could have lost a lot just as well if you were not the right person.

Good points man. I get bored and play on the internet posting dumb stuff like this thread. I always make sure to try to block out any and all personal information because as you say, the world is full of jealous people. I know I shouldn’t be doing this, it’s so stupid, guess I need a new hobby or something. I mean I go to the gym, play computer games, watch tv torrents, read online newspapers etc but still there’s several hours in the day extra hehe. If anything it’s a good problem I guess… too much instead of too little time.
Wish I had a family… it was a sad lonely life growing up with just a grandmother… after she died I’m like all alone in the world… feel like I’m in the middle of the ocean lost at sea with nowhere to go and nothing to do… but at least I’m rich like a mofo and can be miserable in style.

miserable huh … i know a few people who got this thing like ‘money doesn’t make you happy’ … maybe, but lack of money definitely makes you unhappy. Most people saying that seem to have plenty of it and afaik never had to wonder where the next bite to eat would come from for a single day in their entire life.

As for the family bit, maybe that works in american sitcoms but in a lot of cases it’s highly overrated. You get born with family , friends you can choose but even then it’s best to pick them before there’s money rolling out of your pockets innit.

How else am I going to watch American TV shows? Here they show 2 seasons ago on TV. I like Survivor and the other reality shows… you get to see what people are really like.
