I really miss the posts by TRO and I know he’s got some great stuff. I respectfully request that you allow TRO to post – just limit him to threads he himself starts, or possibly to threads he’s invited to post in. That way, it will be easy for those who would rather not see big charts or his approach to simply avoid those threads.
That would require a whole rewrite of their forum software…not likely to happen…lol
You must know where you can find him…at kreslik.com!..I mean I’d very much like TRO back here too, but … why don’t those who are interested go there? I use both these forums, so can you
I do follow him on kreslik, but that does not diminish the further good he could do here.
Agreed… and good to know.
The guy asks for donations via PayPal.
“Hi I am a Forex trader and I never lose… please give me some money”
I banned him from my own forum too. If he simply followed the rules he would not have been banned. The rules cannot be bent just because you like the guy.
Oh and Sweetpip there is an option to only allow somebody to reply to their own threads and nobody else’s. As for replying to threads a user is invited to, that would require a plug-in which likely already exists
He doesn’t ask for donations – he accepts them. Big difference. He’s simply reminding people that a nice thank you for his effort would be meaningful. I do make the occasional donation because it’s right thing to do. I personally have written shareware, asking for $15 if you like it. Do I need $15? No. Does TRO need your donation? No.
Regardless, I don’t think that was behind his being banned here.
Same thing – my degree of ‘like’ for the guy has little bearing on the amount of good he can do, and has done, here.
I saw him ask for donations, that is why I banned him from my forum. Accepting or asking, it’s all a matter of perception. If you like the guy you call it accepting, if you’re impartial you call it asking.
What I see is:
-
An IB who makes money by taking a cut from the spreads brokers charge customers (a bit like a parasite).
-
Ask’s for from other traders.
-
Comes to a forum titles a thread ‘never lose again!!’ and brags about it having lots of views (I wonder why it has a lot of views). In it he tells some sob story about how people mistake his intentions and call him a scammer because he is an IB.
If he wanted people to use MBTrading as a broker he could have told them to, he didn’t have to become an IB and spam his IB link.
The guy posted an affiliate IB link in a thread, he broke the rules, he was banned and he deserves it.
Thanks Nick for the FYI re the forum…then this would be a good time to make it useful.
But I think you’ve ALL got it wrong on the donation part. AND He never said he never lost!..that’s just taking it a little too figuratively.
With regards to forum rules, others have been banned and unbanned after a short period of time. Tro didn’t even get that consideration… even after a standard PM warning.
Oh and while I’m at it…Death threats! Tymen sent me a PM telling me to keep my mouth shut (or what?..could I perceive that as a death threat too?)… about the “real” reason TRO was banned…which didn’t really enlighten or impress me in the least. I actually recently heard OBama on TV use the controversial phrase about “the gloves coming off”…hmmm.
I frequently check the “who’s online” link, and members & guest visits counts where up when TRO was here… and since then, look at the views & replies stats for the NLA thread. Allowing him here in the first place hardly “hurt” the forum like the mods where claiming…rather the opposite!
SweetPip said it better than I could have. Thank you.
Oh Oh…you just called dpaterso a parasite too …he’s an IB. Wonder who else here is an IB???
James won’t let you into his trading room to get more insight to trade his 40-100 pips a day unless you pay a “monthly” fee…he “asks” for it too…(I’m impartial…LOL).
TRO’s was just a one time donation…for which one receives more & more indicators…the latest & greatest …and free chatroom to get more mentoring. That’s just so terrible…lol…not!
Just because you don’t like someone doesn’t mean they should be banned either.
He spams affiliate IB links in this forum. He clearly broke the rules. That is the bottom line…
He also accepts money for products and services (calls it a donation). The pizza store down the road accepts donations for pizza…
By the way I never said I was impartial
So you like the guy then…lol …funny way of showing it.
So if he promised not post his IB link anymore, no reason not to allow him back then, been long enough don’t ya think.
Pizza!..boy I’m hungry…all this friendly banterin’s workin up an appetite…
You can spend all the time you want preaching that his stuff is value for money and he is a good guy but it does not change the fact that he is a spammer.
This is a non productive thread and is pretty much useless so I am closing it.
