Hello,
My name is Alex and I have been trading full-time for the past 17 months. I have spent 3,000+ hours trading and was specifically joining Babypips to see if i could find other traders that traded 15M/30M/1H Time frames.
I trade primarily with trend, based on:
- Market Structure
- Levels
- Price Action
4)Volume/Volume Profiles
- COT Sentiment
I just switched to Forex January 1st, as the systems available to US Customers were much more efficient than the Crypto exchanges. I execute all my orders through TV now, which is wonderful, but losing access to the level 2 info was not enjoyable.
I would love some direction as to where i look for others that trade similar pairs/time frames.
Thanks,
Alex
Being a full-time trader is a dream for many traders. What do you think of this experience anyway? Don’t you miss your old job? And how do you even have enough money, considering that trading is a slightly unstable method of earning money? I know it’s a bit of a question, but can you blame me? It’s great that you’re following your dream, I hope you succeed and your “card replacement” doesn’t knock you down (you know what I mean I hope)
Doubar,
I started investing every free cent when i was 18 (8 years ago). Through multiple successful investments over the years, I earned enough to give me the freedom to leave my old job in health insurance.
To trade full-time you really have to love it, be ok with isolation and uncertainty. The reason i started this was to conquer deficiencies. I recognized that to succeed at trading you would have no choice but to attack your deficiencies head on. If you are willing to do that, then you will gain disciplines that take you beyond trading.
In regards to “missing my old job”, no i do not. I realized that 90% of my time was consumed by endless busy work of solving problems for others. Applying that time to self-improvement and market analysis, in the long run, would lead to much higher ceiling of opportunity. I only marginally miss the human interaction day to day, which is why i am here looking for other traders.
In regards to “trading being unstable”, it is all mathematical. Casinos operate in the same fashion, and in this case you are the casino. Build your system, back test it, know your probabilities, and execute it repeatedly while always focusing on the law of large numbers.
