Hi all!
My name is Jacob, and I am from TX. My motivation to start and to be SUCCESSFUL in my trading journey is to reach my dreams and most importantly to prove everyone who doubts me wrong. A little backstory about myself, I graduated high school in 2020 and soon after I attend the United States Naval Academy Prep School after receiving my nomination from Congressman Randy Weber. For those that don’t know the United States Naval Academy Prep School is basically the delayed entry program for the United States Naval Academy. So, after completion of the Prep School, I would have been accepted into the United States Naval Academy. Lastly before I get into the real details, in order to get accepted to the Prep School you have to apply to the Naval Academy which has an acceptance rate of 8% and is like getting into an Ivy league school. Now with that said, after about 4 months being at the Prep School I was so miserable and I wanted something different. I don’t know if this make sense, but I couldn’t be me, I couldn’t be Jacob. So, after feeling like this for a while I put in for a DOR (Drop on request) which is the military’s saying for drop out. So, after going through the whole process for the DOR I got declined by the Commanding Officer of the Prep School because my grades were too good for them to let me go. LOL, who knew having good grades would come back and hurt you. After that happened, I knew I needed to show him I really was leaving with or without his permission. So, I applied to my local university and got accepted. With my acceptance letter in hand, I went to the Commanding officer one last time and he let me go.
Whenever I came home everyone was disappointed in me. But I know deep down inside of me I do not need the title United States Naval Academy graduate to succussed in life. I know I can go very very far in life without it. I am still at my local university and am a junior by hours, but I am starting my 2nd year this coming up Fall. I am honestly only going to school for my mom. I have made the president and the dean’s list both semesters I have been in school and that’s with me not even trying. Idk, most of the time I feel like people do not understand me and I go against the “norm”. But I know once I do make it, people will then realize I knew what I was talking about the whole time.
