Large lots in each order?

are there people who trade lot sizes of over 100-1000 standard lots in each order?

does trading at that high of a lot size influence your trades (IE. does the market directly move with or against you by trading a large amount of lots since you are controlling a lot more money)?

Yesterday I traded 1.5 trillion and controlled half the market volume for the day. I really drove the price up on myself pretty bad. I hope everybody had fun selling to me.

This really doesn’t happen in the forex market. Happens in small cap stocks all the time with big buyers. That is why big buyers do it in increments.

However on the Asian session, I have seen huge price moves (spikes) that couldn’t even close a 15 min candle with no news. Could this be a bank doing a large transfer all at once?

I won’t say it is a “dirty broker” trick because to many times it was in my favor. I would also check other charts and see the same spike.

I know people who trade upwards of 100 standard lots… All I know is that at 100 you don’t have to worry about moving the markets in FX.

As for larger than that… well… if you can’t make enough money on 100 standard lots you’re just being greedy!

But I can’t give you a definative answer. My guess is NOT A CHANCE. 9.5 trillion a day go through the FX markets… 1000 standard lots won’t even get noticed.

Where did you see 9.5 trillion? I haven’t seen anything that high, though it’s always on the rise.

Second, it depends on timing and pair. If you hit the market with 1000 lots at a slow time of day and in a relatively thinly traded pair you’re going to push things around.

hahaha…yea… i got tired trading 1000 lots… so now i stick to my 1 mini lot.

rhody - i swear i read that somewhere recently. but after doing some more digging you are probably right… is closer to 1.5-2 trillion a day.

I know it can be tiring trading 1000 standard lots. I do it from a micro account. I wore out 15 brand new mouses before I got one trade in.
