London Breakout 1

Hi Muthu,

How do I post the charts directly on here?? I usually just attach the picture to the message.

I actually find cable better, it moves faster and i havent had a loss on it yet

When are you going to get back into it?

One thing i have noticed is that the breakouts have been occuring a lot earlier then before…maybe daylight saving is over in Europe?

Hi,
Search for “Joy of CandleStick Trading - part 2” in Newbie Island. On page 51 you find a detailed explanation by the author of the thread tymen about how to use photo bucket for posting bigger charts. It is very simple. Not sure about the timings in europe. I am not sure on when i will start trading.

Regards,
Muthu.

Hi all,

I’ve read through this whole thread… and after many hours, it has started to gel together for me. There’s the purists and the innovators… for me at the moment I’m sticking quite close to the original rules.

Anyone trading this morning would have seen a classic 7am Frankfurt open down only to rebound at London open straight back up… rubber band effect as someone above mentioned.

It looks however that the bears may win, so I would be betting on that. Had I opened on the 7am candle, it looks like it would have been 20p+.

(Pay no attention to the time… the last green candle on the chart is the 8am London open).

Did anybody ever tried to put this strategy into an EA?

Nice set up this morning on the G/U, for a breakout at London open. Frankfurt has opened already but no major move yet.

Current formation is obeying the last swing hi/low trend very nicely.

Should be a breakout from the triangle- upside possible 50p, and downside possible 20p.

Hi,

The euro also has a nice set up…

London set up for this morning… g/u. Important line at 1.5300

This london breakout seem to be interesting, but there was much confusion about how to draw trendlines. There is many ways to trade London open(breakout) is this strategy still alive? Anyone who is still trading it?

I wonder about that too. Is MUTHU still around? I bet he’s rich by now.

You must be rich also, because I saw you on many threads and with very valuable posts!
But its fact, that we have many systems to trade London breakout, this was the one I was interested in, but nobody is posting this method.

And I think muthusai2000 is here because his last post is from 08-29-2010.

 I’m not rich but I’m headed in the right direction. I always liked this breakout idea but never was able to make myself be awake at the right time of day for it. I live in the wrong time zone.

I am interested in trying this startegy,

Help needed

Little bit confusing !!! reading all the posts

Pls google “gmt time” , there gmt time will be displayed

From which “gmt” to “gmt” we must count the five candles ? (as per Rcarters reccommendation)

Thanks in advance

Hello,

First of all, thank you for sharing this strategy.

I still confuse on time period. My broker time is GMT +5. What time should the first candle be?

Thank you in advance.

I must be slow. It took me a long time to realize it but I just realized, This strategy and also the strategy in the advanced trend lines thread are based on DeMark trend lines.

Work out when Frankfurt opens 0800 Europe time.
Also, work out when London opens 0800 London time.
That’s where you’re looking to trade it if the momentum is correct.

Hi everyone!
What is normally the stoploss used in this system?
Do anyone use this system nowadays?
Thanks!
Best regards

nowadays?.. wot not like in olden tymes :stuck_out_tongue:

I don’t know for sure about this one, but London breakouts in general are still about, I trade it…

I think the stop is variable to keep it technically safe, adjust your position size accordingly.

The timezones for some reason seem to freak people out, if your having problems have a look here and underneath the trading hours chart, pulldown menu, select your timezone:

Forex Market Hours

That website is not correct. Here is a copy-and-paste from that page, with errors and corrections noted:

Forex trading hours, Forex trading time:

New York opens at 8:00 am to 5:00 pm EST — this is correct

Tokyo opens at 7:00 pm to 4:00 am EST — this is incorrect — correct times are 6:00 pm to 3:00 am

Sydney opens at 5:00 pm to 2:00 am EST – this is incorrect — correct times are 4:00 pm to 1:00 am

London opens at 3:00 am to 12:00 noon EST – this is correct

For Tokyo, 8am JST = 6pm EST, and 5pm JST = 3am EST.

For Sydney, 8am AEDT = 4pm EST, and 5pm AEDT = 1am EST.

You can verify these times at timeanddate.com, which is the bible of time-zone conversions.

Thanks for the corrections.

Hi Muthu greetings.

May I have the Pipholic dots indicator. Thank you.
