I am looking for another broker to spread my accounts around alittle and I am drawn to Oanada because of their low spread. Can any Oanada account holders help me with a few things. I have been demoing for a while and the platform keeps freezing. Does this happen with your live accounts?
Also I have searched the website but I cannot find anything about how they feel about scalping. I want this account to use for scalping so want to know if I can do it? Thanks in anticipation of any replies.
As for scalping Oanda likes scalpers. (More trades the more they make). It locks up on me but its usually Java that locks up. Stop running to many programs that should fix that. That low spread is that when its not around any news.

Make sure your java run time is up to date,
I wouldnt bother trying to scalp around news time, they do widen their spreads.

Oanda is making a upgrade to newer Java update maybe this will help…
I have had a live account with Oanda for five years with very little in the way of problems…

I started off with Oanda. I appreciated their lower spreads, however you do have to keep an eye on it to ensure it doesn’t go nuts when you’re trying to scrap up a couple pips.
I did however end up with a Metatrader 4 broker for the benefits of the charting software. It’s light years ahead of what Oanda would be able to offer you. I do trade primarily EURUSD, so I did have to make a one pip sacrifice by switching brokers.
I should have mentioned… I have been to their office several times as they are just 45 minutes from where I live. and those visits probably give me a confidence that I value…
And because I also use Metatrader, I can well appreciate that you would want to use their account and that the small spread difference is actually immaterial…
I think it comes down to what you feel best with… and if you feel good about the broker… then the relationship will be good…
I can completely relate. My broker’s office is about two hours away from me. If need be, I can go in and talk to someone in person.
So who do you use now?
