Lower Timeframe Price Action

Is trading the lower TF on price action profitable. Like 5min ,15min , 30min etc. Saw some videos on youtube, but seems some of the top videos search are showing past events trading, which is not live. For curiosity , is there any videos you guys recommend ? Just curious to see how this people trade.

Yes; it certainly can be. That’s about 90% of the trading I do.

With apologies, no video recommendation from me, but I strongly recommend what’s rapidly becoming the standard textbook on the subject (which I found supremely helpful, and it’s easy to read): Understanding Price Action: Practical Analysis of the 5-minute Time-frame, by Bob Volman (readily available in paperback from Amazon and elsewhere).

I did read an excerpt of Bob’s on pdf last year as I practiced oil on replay. It was quite helpful during the evening hours as London’s opening approached.
There is so much to put together in this incredible game…nothing else like it. I was immensely submerged into horse racing back in the 90’s, as a co-owner and bettor, but that pale’s to trading, period. There are just so many avenues to choose from. Now if I can only wrap my brain around this, certainly would compliment my being.

Any trading strategy in the right hands can be profitable, it really all depends on the trader.

Small time frame can be profitable, and it’s less stressful since you’ll usually close trades quickly (and wont worry whether your account will be wiped out while you sleep).

It really depends on a lot of factors, including your risk preferences, lifestyle, trading approach etc. Scalpers who prefer quick price action and closing their trades by the end of the day prefer to trade on short-term time frames while swing traders who focus mostly on economic analysis tend to trade on longer-term charts.

Price action can be profitable on any time frame. It is up to a traders understanding of th price action and their risk management.

You are right, price action can be traded on 5 minute as well. But you have to be very active and selective in trading lower time frames, no matter what technique you use.
