Hey Everyone,
I’m definately a newbie, so this question may have been discussed at length already. I have a million questions about fx trading, but my first one has to do with my computer. Is it possible and optimal to trade using a Macintosh? So far it almost seems like “NO”.
Thanks for your time. I’ve enjoyed every post I’ve read here. Thanks for your help,
Vladamir
You can install windows on your mac. That’s what I’ll do. I’ve heard it works ok.
I’m on Mac OS X and I’m running Oanda. It’s a Java based application so it works on most operating systems.
HI Vladamir I already work with my mac and I can totally say that it’s great!.
I installed windows usings parallels (a software to install windows) and now I can trade smoothly in my mac!.
It takes a little bit to get used to it but at the end it’s quite easy.
Hope this can help to other people.
Have a nice day!
How do you like Oanda so far? How long have you been trading it? I also have a Mac so any insight would be nice. Thanks in advance.
Hi Wrtm_19,
Thanks for the reply. I’m currently trading using ACM (Advanced Currency Markets) I’ve been happy with them at home on my G5 desktop, hardwired to hi-speed phone line. I’ve had several crashes using my g4 laptop with wi-fi connections at work, or around town. I have a friend who says the java based applications are less reliable, and I should buy a cheap pc laptop for currency trading.
I like the idea of using Parallels or boot camp to run Windows. Thanks again, and happy trading.
