Mega noob here... Help picking a system

Hi everyone

I’m Andres. Just finished going through school and I just wanted to thank everyone
who took the time and effort to put it together. Fantastic job.

At the moment I’m focusing on two things before demo trading:

  1. Learning a bit about trading psychology by reading Trading in the zone by Mark Douglas

  2. Pick a trading system to start demo trading and start getting my head around forex

Because this is my first time trading I’m not sure where to start.

I have been reading some treads about VSA but I’m having a difficult time getting my hear around some of the concepts.

Any advice in how to get started? a system to start demo trading?

A bit about myself: Got a background in science,I live in Australia but originally from Colombia.
Looking to spend around 2-4 hours per day studying the markets.:22:

Thanks!

Well Hi, I’m a veteran stock trader, beginner FOREX. And to start off I must inform you that I’ve done a ton of trading demo and studying, I have finally developed a plan that consistently makes money. But the market still gets the best of me at times. Check out mirror trading, the best thing since sliced bread. I wish the stock market had mirror trades, it Takes the trades of others and displays their progress for all to see for free! Zulu trade is one such site. One thing it teaches you is that even the best traders experience losses and to actually see them lose BIG money is a GREAT stress reliever. I wish you the best in your endeavors. JJJ

Hi JJJ

I have been lurking around zulu trade watching some of the traders. I agree with you, it’s nice to be able to see how
some of this guys move.

I’m actually toying with the idea of mirror trading. Quick question… these guys at zulu trader, do they post their
analysis of the market? the strategies they follow?

best of luck to you too Jmax.

Yes, go to their strategies tab, though they may not be very detailed, and some more then others as some even post videos of their trades.

I would advise against completely following Zulu traders. I think you may be able to learn something about market entry from a few of them. However, most/all of them completely throw risk management out the window because the only thing they care about is their win percentage and percent return. They let their losses ride to avoid closing them out in the negative, so they’re able to generate impressive results until they get hit with a margin call and lose most or all of their capital in a massive drawdown (as well as that of the traders following them).

Look at some of the returns on Zulu. Those are ridiculous and completely unrealistic returns. You know the saying about sounding too good to be true? I’d suggest you check Currensee if you’re looking for results in the realm of sustainable attainability. Again, I’d advise against depositing real money with them and just using them as a learning tool, but in the end it is your decision.

Thank you guys for the sound advice.

I’m not planning in depositing money with any other trader… not zulu trader, not any other platform. I’m interested in learning how to trade so that would be counterproductive.

If anyone is gonna risk my money is going to be me! I may use them as a learning resource, but only after picking a system and getting a solid understanding of the basics.

Thanks again.

Andres
