Modify an order on the MT4 platform?

does anyone know if with the MT4 platform is possible to add a stop loss and/or take profit to an executed order which was sent without SL/TP ?

It seems I can`t, but just to be sure…that is pretty annoying.

Thanks

Not sure if anything has changed since I last placed a live trade with Metatrader, but you should be able to right click on your order and select the option to modify the trade. From there you can adjust stop loss and take profit. I do not believe however, you can adjust the order size. You must place another order to add or subtract from your existing position.

You can reduce a position size by changing the “lots” box to a # lower than your current position size and then clicking on that “Close X Lots of Order #1209821094” or something to that manner.

I just sold some AUD/CHF at market

then went to modify the order and it does not let me…the button does not become active :frowning:

Either I am stupid or am missing something?

Thanks

You’re missing something. You are putting on the amount for profit target and stop loss.
Metatrader wants the actual price. Its not letting you modify because your entries are not valid.

ok and where do I have to put the actual price then?

(the order has been already executed)

thanks

On the modify order you posted, there are two things you can do. Where it says limit and points you can write in the amounts of your targets. Click copy as and then modify.

Keep in mind that this will be based on current market price, so the second option would be to write in the price where you currently have .01000 and. 02500.

thank you very much, now I understood

Problem solved! Many thanks!
