Hmmm ok well that idea really doesnt sound too promising then …
Take a good look at petefaders 1500 PIPS thread and you won’t need any more ideas.
Hello,
Well for what it’s worth: do a search for ‘Mastering The Trade John F. Carter PDF’ and trust me you’ll find it (the book) (it’s only ‘twats’ like me that have ended up paying for this ‘forest’ of ALMOST useless books that I have)!!! LOL!!!
Seriously though: if nothing else the first half of the book (and it’s a very THICK book by the way i.e. it was indeed good value for money) explains in the best detail how the markets work and why most traders get a ‘spanking’ (his words not mine) and stuff like that and I admire the way that he approaches the subject of the psychology of trading. And yes: he does in fact trade forex SOMETIMES. The other half of the book contains quite a few (dare I say ‘good’) trading systems. The chapter on pivot points is really good and then of course there are at least two chapters that cover this ‘tick’ business. He has some pretty good ideas and as far as I know he’s a very successful professional trader. OK: I don’t trade any of his stuff but that’s only because (as most of you know probably know) I’m a ‘Wilder junkie’. One VERY nice thing about the book is that the trade examples (and there are hundreds of them) are FAIRLY recent unlike most of the books that you buy nowadays i.e. the examples given are normally ‘cherry picked’ trades from the year 1809!!! I want to know how you traded the S&P last month not before I was born!!! LOL!!! You get the picture.
Regards,
Dale.
Edit:
As a matter of fact THAT’S something I’d LOVE to see i.e. a trading book detailing technical trading systems using examples of real trades for the period between sub-prime and the credit-crunch!!! Even one of the most recent books that I was GIVEN (complimentarily) gives trade examples from 2005 and prior (and it was printed in 2010) and I’ve always wondered if there’s a specific reason for this!!!
