More about demo accounts

Are demo accounts the same as the real account I have heard s=in various forums that demo accounts don’t provide with real-time scenarios and even book profits so as to gain the interest and of the traders so as the start trading on real/live accounts as compared to the demo accounts? Can you help me clarify this confusion because all-ready I have spent two weeks in finding the correct broker but now I am coming across this type of confusion. Any kind of replies and advice will be very helpfull.

No you don’t have to worry about the trading conditions in the demo accounts. If you have chosen a well reputed and regulated CFD broker then you will find their demo accounts same as the live ones. However the demo accounts are used by the broker for testing purpose also so sometimes there can be a difference but generally they represent the real market situations.

In my experience it should be the same. I have found sometimes spreads differ a little but by and large they are the same.

There are some things a demo account just won’t prepare you for. Biggest is, its not real money, so you won’t feel real emotions from a win or a loss.

They are good for developing and practicing strategies. But keep in mind this might be good in a negative way - so if you have a great strategy but you can’t make money in demo, it definitely won’t work for you in live.

They are also good for tracking market condition but this is rarely recognised.

Ok, I will surely look into this, and thanks for your reply mate, there are so many brokers and sometimes I get confused but I will try out 5-6 brokers and will use their demo accounts first in order to know about various accounts they are providing and see finally which one I am choosing.

Thanks for responding mate i will surely test this and will soon switch to a live account after trying 5-6 brokers

I will keep a note of this moving forward.
Thanks mate

Thnk you going through fcmarkets demo accoutn right now not finding them as good as some previous brokers

The word DEMO is the key. If the demo account is not real as a live account, how can a trader test on the trading environment right? You can always on a real account and demo together to see on the differences in between. Without deposit you can also open a demo.

yea but still hesitant about trading on a live account ill wait for sometime

Demo is a good way to practice without money and I would suggest practicing on it for some time. Micro accounts are even better for practicing but preferable to trade with only after demo practice. A micro account will help you to practice with real money, real fills of orders, real slippage, it’s more realistic in all ways.

The key difference between demo and real is in real your money is involved. And where money is involved, emotions are associated. But demo is a good place to develop your strategy.

true that demo is a good way to learn

There is obviously a lot of difference between demo accounts and real accounts. Demo accounts are there to give you a rough idea of how real accounts work.
