I know that EA’s in MT4 depend on a computer being on and online. I also know that some brokers offer VPS accounts for automated trading.
I have a VPS server that I run my business on already so I’m curious to know if MT4 will run EA’s in non-interactive mode? That is the computer is online but it isn’t logged in.
My VPS is a virtual session and not like a dedicated computer that is left on with the screen locked.
that’s the whole point of VPS, it runs while you’re not logged in. Perhaps I’m not catching your question?
Also, I wouldn’t run a trading VPS on your business server. Anything goes wrong on either side and it takes down both of your businesses.
The question is - “does MT4 run in non-interactive mode?”
Non interactive mode is when I am not logged in and using my VPS.
I’ll find out the easy way and just test it this week.
You do not have to log into your VPS. The EA will continue to function as long as you do not close the MT4 or switch off the EA in your VPS.
You can log into your VPS as and when just to check your trades, but you should NEVER interfere with the trades because it will mess up your EA.
