Multiple monitors

i’ve heard of some crazy people who have as many as ten 22 inch lcd’s.
i started with one monitor, but i dont like flipping between charts often, so i now have two 15 inch monitors.

what set ups are yall using?

I only have one 19" (1280x1024) monitor which is not really enough for daytring. Hoping to get another one some time in the future. In reality I think 3-4 would be enough for me.

How do you hook up more than 1 screen? Once you hook up more than one screen, how do you control what content is on what screen?

I am using a HP laptop with a 17 inch widescreen, connected to a 20 inch monitor to my right. i use the 20 incher for charts and such, and my laptop for conversations and my trading platform.

All you need to do is hook up the serial port from the monitor into another one of your serial ports in the computer, right click on the background, then go to properties of display on your original computer , then settings and activate the 2nd monitor. The mouse should roll over to the next screen as you move it. you can drag and drop windows in and out as you need to.

hope it helps,

I use two 20 inch monitors. I like it because it allows me to look at the different pairs without them being jumbled up on one screen.

Also, if I get bored with no signals I usually like surfing the web or something and at the same time I won’t be missing anything on the charts.

I hqave a graphics card that runs 2 19 inch lcd monitors. I look at Metatrader on the one with multiple charts and stay coonected to my FX account on the other I plan to get a third to use with another computer,
The graphics card does virtually all the work. For ex. If I am on my trading platform and open the internet it comes in on the second moniter.
You can also move each program with the mouse.

Good luck

Thanks Martin, I will try this when we are moved into our new home at the end of the month!

I have two (21, 15) monitors but if I was just setting up a new configuration I would only buy 1 monitor with the maximum native resolution. Preferrably the dell 30 inch which has (2560 * 1600px).

The windows do not maximize to the other monitor when using “Show Windows Vertically”. A command I use very often to evenly split the primary windows across the main 21 inch monitor. That is why I will always purchase the largest resolution on a single screen that my budget will allow.

my video card is this PNY Verto GeForce FX 5200 256MB DDR PCI Dual VGA TV Out Video Card VCGFX522PPB at TigerDirect.com

it was super easy to set up so i recommend both the video card, and tigerdirect.com which is a GREAT site with top notch customer service.

I’m currently using 2 24" lcds, a Dell and a Samsung and a 19" Samsung. The 24"s are great. Currently using 1280 x 1024 res. I use Ultramon for display management. Works very well… Cards are Nvidia 7800s, 2 ports each.

I use a Radeon 9250 with two 21 inch LCD screens. I don’t see how anyone can use a PC with one monitor for anything, sheesh its so, so, 2005…

Anyone heard or know anyone who has this setup? I would love to have this. Maybe one day.

There might be an easier, much cheaper way too. I don’t know.

I was looking at these: CineMassive Quad Meridian 19W | Quad-Screen Multi-Monitor Display

But in all honesty if I were to do it I would just get 3 of these: Newegg.com - Acer AL2216Wbd Black 22" 5ms DVI Widescreen LCD Monitor with HDCP support 300 cd/m2 700:1 - Retail

And be done with it. 700 bucks + a video card and you’re good to go!

HAHA I agree, I’ve got the exact same set up…Need to upgrade the graphics card though.

The Cinemassive looks quite intimidating…I wouldn’t know what to do with 4 screens…I’m from a simpler time you see  Whatever happened to CRT monitors anyway?

I use only 1 monitor and hope to keep it that way
