My introduction to Forex

Hello everyone. My name is Dana (NursePip). I am a nurse with 25 years experience. I became interested in trading Forex about two years ago after a friend/ co-worker invited me to join a group she was in. I declined joining because I had thought it would be too hard to learn. Once I was fired from my second job (perdiem position) for “failure to report to work” even though I was told not to report to work because I had covid (March 2020)… I decided to attend one of the training sessions on learning how to trade since I had extra time to dedicate toward studying. It was confusing at first, but I have learned a lot and look forward to gaining more knowledge through this forum.

hello Dana. learning is really important , you got this message . hope you will be benefited.

Welcome aboard, and with a good ‘wanna learn’ mindset. Focus on process first and foremost. Aim to keep cool, calm and collected while trading live. Experience and emotional control management are key success signals.

Best of luck.

Hi @nursepip and welcome to the Babypips forum.

Please don’t stop being a nurse. We all need you. And please do tell as many people as you can that you were dismissed for failure to report to work. I know many people that has happened to including my son two weeks ago despite he had been advised by the 111 national helpline to have a Covid test and isolate until he got the result, which he communicated to his employer by recorded SMS message. In the fullness of time, I am sure there will be millions of cases (probably by way of class actions) to question the decisions made by organisations in their knowing or unknowing application of illegal dismissals. Be tough, and be patient.

And on the subject of Forex, welcome to this pursuit too. Be tough, and be patient. That will help you survive many times in this game. In the words of my friend @steve369 learn first how NOT to lose money. The best place to start is the Babypips School of Pipsology accessible via the Education tab at the top of the page. Second, try to browse / read as many posts on this forum as your time permits. Look for the magnifying glass at top right next to your avatar. This will help you become used to the acronyms or abbreviations used in this industry, and there are as many of them as there are in the NHS. :slightly_smiling_face:

Finally, there is no such thing as a dumb question. There are only dumb people who are scared to ask. Every question is valid on this forum, and you will get very many answers.
