New_2_fx introduction

Hi all,
I’m starting out in the world of forex for the first time and hoping that this forum might provide some guidance. I will be doing my trading part-time to supplement my earnings, I am hoping to develop my knowledge and skills will I continue to work but the longer-term goal is to trade full-time.

So far I have done a short course on the basics, opened a demo account (with mixed success) on MT4 and started considering what my strategy will be when I start live trading. I have looked at a number of trading journals and think I have found a suitable one on one of these forums (thanks to whoever that was/is?).

I’m not sure what my next steps are before I start live trading using technical analysis and patterns I have learnt. Should I be thinking about anything else before I start? When I go live, I am thinking of small amount of risk exposure, a high number of trades and measuring the success rate of the trades I make.

Any advice about my next steps would be welcomed.

Cheers.

Are you winning in demo mode? Don’t go live until you are consistently winning over a large number of trades.

most welcome to baby pips forum. enjoy everything with great learning.

Started badly, then had a strong set of trades so just about made up the loss. However, I feel like I need to deal with real money to focus and only take on trades which fit my strategy. I have only done the demo for one month, do you think I should go on longer with it?
