Okay, first of all id like to apologize in advance that the trade in the screenshot is crypto not currency. My question is very general and newbie and I guess applies to FX also. Why is it whenever I buy stock, currency, or crypto the P/L(%) starts negative all the time? (referring to the -4.75% in the screenshot that I initially bought) It usually starts at -2.00% most of the time at an instant. I would expect that i would see it start at 0% first at the very second when I buy the stock and work its way up or down depending on its performance. Are there any “hidden” fees on trading platforms? There is something im missing here clearly.
It’s accounting for the spread or commission you paid when you took the trade.
thats the spread, this is how the broker/exchange makes their money. Some have big spreads and some have very small spreads and take a comision per trade
yes it is , top level brokers always ensure big trading spreads , for that reason newcomers always fall a great trouble when choosing a top trading broker.
agree , and their minimum deposits are too high to invest.
in my opinion it’s a kind of commission sum.
Crypto spreads are very wide, you cannot compare it to currency spreads. Some crypto spreads are up to 50 pips wide.
I agree with the answers of friends in this forum.
