I’m SystemDC - I am currently a student and just turned 18 one day ago.
I am from French Polynesia (Tahiti) but I am currently studying in New Zealand to become a business man of some kind. I can speak french, english and mandarin chinese quite fluently although not perfectly.
I have started trading forex on demo with Investopedia & Alpari uk for 2 months now.
I have started trading live on May 15th with Alpari UK and currently have made a 128% return! (in one week!!) However after deducting my open trades, I am making a ~65% return.
My 3 losing open trades are all AUD/USD (Yes I tried to catch a falling knife…) but I am 80% confident that the australian dollar will at least reach once again .99 by the end of the year.
I am still currently learning alot from this GREAT website and I will make sure to donate money to the nice people running babypips
This is Currencye from Auckland New Zealand… I have also been trading forex for quite sometime now… How’s your journey of learning about forex market so far… Are you enjoying the thrill and suspense of the market?
Welcome, SystemDC! Glad to hear that you’re already interested in forex trading at such a young age. It’s never too early to start!
Anyway, if you have any questions, don’t be afraid to approach the FX-Men and your fellow forum members. We’re friendly people. I hope you enjoy your stay here!
128% in a week? In my years of trading, I haven’t ever reached a gain like that… That seems awfully aggressive to me! But hey, if it works for you…
Welcome to the site, by the way. Hope you enjoy your stay.
Yes you are right Huck that IS awful, I was risking ~5% of my account on average with 500:1 leverage! Shame on me! I have now better money management after a few losses and glad I have not lost all my money like most beginners!
I am currently learning from a great mentor Chris Capre - not here to advertise but reading babypips and all the negativity around mentors - it’s just a wrong mentality… (And funny for me to people missing out on opportunities!)
Not only a mentor will help you accelerate your learning curve and give you valuable insight, they will also teach you their strategies. Believe it or not, the guy is amazing and I can now already understand price action better than before!
You would not learn to read, write, drive, etc… by yourself wouldn’t you? Why wouldn’t the same apply for trading? “Everything can be found on the internet, a mentor is a scam”. Buffet had a mentor. Soros had a mentor. Retail traders have the internet haha.
Please if you are reading this, do not believe EVERYTHING on the internet including babypips’ forums especially if you are a beginner - and the most important part of all; DO NOT believe what I just wrote, think for yourself
I am happy learning from a forex mentor, well worth the money good luck to you traders
“The thrill and suspense” of the market haha - yes I had that feeling when I started out however now, I feel a different kind of excitement, not towards the market, but towards trading. I have found out that I am really passionate about trading currencies and this makes me want to learn! I truly love the way things work in the foreign exchange market and how people think, react & act to news announcement, world events, key levels, etc…
Loving what you do is essential in life; I absolutely LOVE learning forex not only for the money, but more for the technique, the process and what it means… Money comes maybe 3rd or 4th but yes so far, I feel like I have took on the road to my success!
Glad to know you’ve found something that works for you. I have to agree, there are more than a few around here who could probably do better in encouraging new traders. Maybe they just need to cool down a bit? LOL. I hope you see continued progress in your trading career!
Just drop by and want to say hello to all of you.I’m new to forex and i’m glad to be part of it can anyone share me their experience with this forum?
Hi!One must not totally dependent on others advice so I agree with that but still, forums like babypips are very helpful for newbies to learn forex and to those who can’t afford to hire a mentor for themselves
