Hello everyone ! My name is clemalo (pronounced cleh-ma-low), or my username at least.
I am a complete newbie with ADHD and I have honestly no clue what any of what I see means.
I don’t have have any expectation but rather hopes of achievement.
In the future to come I want to learn enough to be able to have money on the side to spend on fun, activities, friends but most importantly, family. One of the biggest things that I regret right now is not being able to help my parents financialy in any way, shape or form while they do everything to help me. While giant projets are unrealistic at my level of knowledge, I do keep in mind the idea of being able to set them free of all the debt they have ; being able to pay for the house, repair it, buy them a new car… etc.
I intend on using my weaknesses like my ADHD as a tool to thrive and to strengthen my thirst of knowledge
Have a great day !

Your situation is very unique since your attention can be limited from time to time. Trading can become redundant and very boring once you get a hang of things. You are following a process and any diversion from that process can be costly. One year is not impossible but it is very hard to master something in such short amount of time. Babypips has one of the best educations out there and the best thing is that it is free. Oanda has one of the perk that you can trade in nano lots (100) so you can literally start with $100 USD and see how your strategy works. It’s taken me 4 years to get my first profitable year. Who knows, maybe the ADHD can be incorporated into your strategy and shorten your learning curve. Good luck on your journey
Excellent news, PH. I enjoy the market challenge, particularly as my live account suffered a rare black swan event in Jan 2019. Only lasted a minute, but I was bombed out for 5% of my capital, being on the wrong side of the trade. S/L was partially ineffective as it happened too quick…
And losing 13 completely differing trades in a row on one day, after avoiding anything other than being on the wrong side of market sentiment. Or letting 4 consecutive daily trades hit their S/L when I could have cut the loss earlier and saved $80 for other better trades.
Lessons learnt… As well as being joyfully surprised by returning from lunchtime shopping, without a T/P and seeing one trade had hit a Pips jackpot…
Yes, for me it keeps me young…

That is my goal here; using the hyperfocus and constant hunger for knowledge that comes with ADHD to build a strong trading strategy. I’m gonna need a lot of time management as well but I’m hoping for the best. Like you said, my attention can be limited so that’s why I’m trusting my courage in hopes of holding on.
I will gladly put your advice into use, thank you very much

Welcome to babypips! I hope you have a great trading journey so that you can give your parents a comfortable life that they deserve. All the very best to you!
I’m really glad to hear despite ADHD, you have the zeal to learn and I would say use this and the reasons as your motivation. To begin with, you’re definitely at the right place. So, begin with the School of Pipsology and learn about the basics. Get a clear understanding and then ensure you only begin with a demo account from a broker who’s got great reviews. Stick to your strategies along with deeply analyzing the market trends and what’s causing the changes. Once you follow the concept and strategies, you’re good to go! Hope it helped and all the best for your future.
