Hi Guys
THIS IS FOR ALL YOU NEWBIES OUT THERE
(Because the Intermediate and Veterans amongst us would never do this)

HEADS UP: This may be a lengthy post, but

  1. i think it’s worth it

  2. I need get something really important across to you newbies. ok

here we go

My name is Martin K
I’ve been trading forex now for around 7 years and i’m good at it and successful at it

Now…
in the last month or so I’ve received a lot of emails (and i don’t mind helping people) but this is just getting ridiculously stupid

GUYS LISTEN . ok

  1. Stop asking me to trade for you and fix your problems

  2. Stop telling me your life’s problems and how sick your family are

  3. Stop telling me that you have friends that also need my help

so… what the hell am i talking about

as simply as i can put this, and in the shortest way i know how …

it’s one thing for you guys to ask me to give you tips (and i don’t mind ) and i have done so.

it’s a completely different thing altogether to stuff up your account and then ask me to save it for you.

Here are my problems with the emails that ive had lately

  • You go an stuff up your account and blow your account or Lose a decent amount of money when WE TOLD YOU TO START ON DEMO and YOU DIDN’T LISTEN

  • You were told by me and people on this forum GO TO BABYPIPS SCHOOL
    OPEN A DEMO, don’t trade live until you know how
    it’s your fault for not listening

  • you were told USE THE SEARCH BAR, why did you not
    and then you come to me to save your rear end when you got scammed by our famous well known scam brokers
    Now… HAD YOU HAVE USED THE SEARCH BAR, you would have found that those brokers were a No No
    Why is it now my responsibility to save you ?

  • THE MAJORITY OF YOU SEEM TO HAVE THE FOLLOWING PATTERNS

You all seem to be from India or that region

You all seem to have financial problems in your life (Why does this not suprise me ?)

You all SEEM TO THINK THAT FOREX WILL FIX YOUR PROBLEMS

Now. it’s one thing for you guys to try trading
but here are some of the scenario’s that ive been given
and I’M TIRED OF RESPONDING TO THEM AND HAVING TO SAY “NO. I WON’T HELP YOU”

Martin, i saw your post on (either You tube or babypips) i learned a lot
you seem to know what you’re doing,
My (Mother, Father, brother , sister or children) are sick and have recently had an operation
i took up forex to try and raise the money for , Said Operation
Martin can you trade for me so that my (Mother, father, brother, sister or children) can have the money for the operation

  • I am not heartless

  • i have a soft spot for helping people

  • yes i can trade profitably (it doesn’t mean that i will for you )

  • and, Not trading for you doesn’t mean i hate you.

NEWBIES, HERE IS THE SOLUTION TO YOUR PROBLEMS:
(and i’m not going to be polite… ok) because neither are you guys when you ask me or EXPECT ME to help you

but, you HAVE ASSUMED that i will help your friends as well

Please tell me
do i have a sticker on my back that says
"WILL HELP ANYONE TRADE FOREX FOR FREE AND GET BACK THE MONEY THEY LOST"

your problems are as follows :

  • HABITS
    Your problems ARE NOT ABOUT MONEY
    Your problems are there because YOU HAVE BAD HABITS in your life

if you are broke, it’s because of your habits ( i know, because i’ve been broke)
if you life sux right now, it’s because of your habits

now. if you family member is sick ( i can certainly appreciate and sympathize with this)
this is unfortunate and NOT A HABIT RELATED THING

but, FOREX IS NOT THE BLOODY SOLUTION

Are you guys crazy or what ?

What did you think ?
Did you think that you would be slapped with a medical bill of say $20,000 and you have an account balance of $1000 and you think that in 2 weeks FROM BEING A NEWBIE, you’re going to make $20k

DON’T BE STUPID… OK
and i say this as a friend to you .

I can understand when someone tries forex and loses money

WHAT I CANNOT UNDERSTAND IS

  • Why would you think that forex or me will cure cancer

  • Why do you think that a Complete stranger (Namely. ME) is your solution to your children being sick or your wife or whatever
    IT’S NOT MY RESPONSIBILITY … ok guys

  • Why would you entrust the health of your family to a broker that is probably going to take you for a ride

WANT TO KNOW WHY 95% OF TRADERS LOSE
BECAUSE THEY ARE BLOODY STUPID…THAT’S WHY

if you have the following scenario

  • You saw forex and you thought you could make money

  • you are making the money because you don’t have a lot of money

  • you NEED TO do this because someone is sick or for your children

**IF THIS IS YOU **
I KID YOU NOT… DO NOT TRADE

YOU WILL REGRET IT

I am tired of having to say

“I’m sorry mate, i feel for you and your family”
“I’m sorry mate, your problem is not money related”
“I understand they are sick , but i’m sorry, it’s not my problem”

guys, i’m sick of this… ok
Everyone has issues in their life

I am not here to save the world

and LET ME POINT SOMETHING ELSE OUT AS WELL
to all of you who say

this all started around the time when i answered a question at one point relating to risk
i did some calculations
THEN YOU GUYS STARTED EMAILING ME

DOING SIMPLE MATH AND UNDERSTANDING RISK

How do you even know that i’m not some idiot who hasn’t got a clue how to trade

that’s actually a good idea

but how about this twist to it

you know how you have Money Lend places.
the problem being, if you borrow $1000, YOU ARE AWARE that when you return it
you are returning … like $1300 or something like that

but, if you had a service where you said
WE LEND MONEY FOR BITCOIN

you would transfer X Amount of Bitcoin to the lender, that is worth More than $1000

and the lender would give you $1000
when you came to return the $1000, it would be $1000
but. the lender transfers the same amount of bitcoin back to your account

THUS PROVIDING THE ILLUSION THAT IT COST YOU NOTHING,
but, in fact, bitcoin is now worth less :stuck_out_tongue:

There was a diary written a few years back, was by a race horse gambler’s daughter, she knew a little about that game.

Forex - a two horse race, I can bet on the winner, then as the race progresses I can stop the race at any time, any second, no need to wait for the finish.

Better than that, even at the finish line, if my horse is winning I can keep the race going and win even more.

If on the other hand my horse is tiring I can stop the race at will.

So tell me again how I can lose?

That’s the thinking behind the sob stories, it’s also the thinking behind the constant supply of fresh fodder for those engaged in this industry whose money supply is termed ‘street’ (the nice term) or ‘dumb’ (the usual term) money.

I read this post and I was really surprised that people are actually making such silly requests.In as much as I appreciate all your responses to my posts, I can never make such silly request as asking you to trade for me.Even if its something you will agree to do,how will many people expect you to run their trade for them all at once and manage it well?

My suggestion to you is this:If after this mail you keep receiving such requests,save your energy and don’t reply.when they don’t get any reply,with time,they will stop.
Secondly,all the reasons you mentioned as the reasons why many people don’t succeed is very right.

My advice to all newbies:For me personally,I don’t regret going through the babypips training.the times i have asked questions in this forum and received sound replies from MartinK and others too,is helping to build my trading system up.I am still demo trading but I can confidently say the mistakes I made initially are mistakes I won’t likely repeat again cos as I make mistakes,I learn from them and take corrections.

If you really want to go into forex and make profit, treat it as your business and try to learn all you can about it.KNOWLEDGE,they say,IS POWER.And no one can take the knowledge of what you have from you.

Another key reason people don’t succeed in forex is because of LACK OF DISCIPLINE.if you decide to have the discipline required as explained in babypips,you will manage your risk well and not have problem with forex in the long run.

Very True, Discipline and Patience is key
Creativity is also important and so is discovery.

Actually, there is another level to this that you may not have yet reached
Level 1 - Not knowing about KNOWLEDGE IS POWER

Level 2 - you learn that KNOWLEDGE IS POWER

Level 3 - You learn that you had no idea before and KNOWLEDGE ACTUALLY IS NOT POWER. and you prove this buy gaining knowledge BUT SOMEHOW you don’t have the power
YOU THEN REALIZE THAT KNOWLEDGE…IS POTENTIAL POWER

but you can’t use that until you KNOW HOW TO APPLY the knowledge
and even then it’s not enough
you also have to WANT TO APPLY IT
and even then it’s not enough
and then you have TO APPLY IT

THIS IS WHEN AN INSTANT CHANGE OCCURS AND KNOWLEDGE BECOMES POWER
I have learned this in 45 years, Knowledge has the potential to be power but most times it doesnt become powerful it merely remains in the KNOWLEDGE stage.

Actually, you’d think so… huh hehe
but they don’t
they just keep begging
and one of two things will happen

  • you’ll either agree to help them
    or
  • you’ll feel like crap for saying NO, sorry , even after they told you that their entire family health or something or other is on the line.
    not that it’s my responsibility , but NOW THAT I KNOW OF IT… hehe it’s a tad harder to say no. know what i mean.

I have a weak spot for helping people who need help.
i’m the guy that stops and helps if you are broken down on the road after work and everyone’s heading home, and they don’t stop because they are heading home
i’m the guy that says to myself (in fairness… for selfish reasons) i say, i’ll sleep a lot better if i help this person get their car started
also the other thing is , it could be cool to figure out the problem on a technical level.
tha’ts why i stop.

when it comes to trading, if i see someone doing something stupid, i pull them up over it and try and help.
but AS WE KNOW, trading is not exactly breaking down in a car

like i said recently
i’m hanging back a bit and choosing what i respond to
i’m trying to be more brief in my responses (clearly not in this one) but i’m not just going through a few loose ends and then i’ll pick and choose what i respond to

In response to your comment about helping people; it’s definetely not a bad thing; but not in terms of this kind of business like you clearly stated. you can’t take the burden of the whole world on your shoulders. Besides, if it’s like in the instances you mentioned; no problem there, but not for forex per say. Even if you could do it, it will eventually become a burden to you in the long run when you try to manage that of many people.
