Overtrading Wiped Me

You should try demo trading for sometime. Stick to your trading plans there and once you become profitable gradually shift to a real account. Paper trading can also help.

Let it be a modern day real-life lesson that there is no quick way to the top. Lacking discipline really boils down to one of two things:

Being lazy
Allowing emotions to dictate what you do

Go back to demo and learn self control. .

I learned this in my 50s… Catch-up is a pita.

This is critical in trading.

One way to think of it is like going to the gym. Most people go for the to the gym for a 1/2 hour or an hour, if there disciplined 5 days a week.

Going to the gym is not their profession. They’re not a professional “exerciser” :joy:. They’re not a bodybuilder. Hour a day is plenty!

I believe wholeheartedly if you have a job, and are not a professional trader, there’s no need to spend the majority of your time trading.

However, focusing on it just an hour a day, being disciplined, looking at the long-term, you should reap tremendous long-term benefits over a lifetime with this type of exercise.
