Paid trading systems

Hey all, I am just starting this website to ask a quick question.

EDIT <Just realised I called the thread a website!> EDIT

There are so many of these “trading systems” around and the website promoting them is always laid out in the same way.

A single page with a few charts saying “buy here, sell here” and “9% profit in 2 days” with a few testimonials thrown in for good measure.

I don’t use any of these systems and have no intention of ever doing so - and am unfortunately plagued with such spam e-mails everyday!

Here is my question - why is it that these trading systems ALWAYS cost $97?

What is so magical about this number, $97?

They most likely have tested other prices and found it to be the most efficient. Also, people see a big difference in buying somthing for $97 vs $101. Its all snakeoil marketing.

Makes perfect sense!

A lot of internet marketers use 80 (exaggeration :p) different adds to sell the same schlock.

They change the sites, names, and looks, but once you sign up for one thing, you get adds for 80, because since you’ve given your email address to one, all the sister sites can then send you crap too.

I sure hope you don’t know that through experience Master Tang!

Heck, I’d go mental if that were the case!

yeah, I get all that fx spam mail too. I read somewhere once that people are more likely to buy for $97 than even a slightly higher price. Something psychological.

Here’s something on the .99 cent pricing and I’ll bet the $97 goes along the same lines of reasoning. Because it feels like it’s less than 100 so you feel like you are getting a bargain.

When I just was starting to interest trading, I was so stupid to let to a few websites to know my e-mail. I’ve got SO MANY SPAM from tonne of them:mad:

Hate spam.
But the greatest - it works!!
People buy the products they offers in spammy messages

… and about 97$

Like a Holy Bible:D

It is the same trick like “sex sells”! Place a naked woman at your banner and you will get a lot of visitors, even if you sell paper for WC:D

Wise words. Thanks for the link TalonD, this is something that I have always wondered too.

AutoPilot - absolutely right, begin a sentence with “Free Sex” then follow it up with mundane stuff and you have already caught all the attention in the world.

There’s no magic in 47 - the magic is actually in the 7.

In my experience on the internet, the overwhelming majority of products are sold in prices ending in 7. I’ve seen things for $1997, 497, 197, 97, and every possible number to, and including, $7. The $7 represents a product that really isn’t worth very much, and could be given away - but people don’t associate value with anything given for free.

As noted before, marketing studies have probably shown people to look cynically at prices ending in 9, perhaps even numbers like 8 spook people or something, and they found 7 to be just the correct digit to use to complete the price. I expect that research has determined 7 to be the Goldilocks of final digits of prices.

yeah, isn’t it weird how they all have these 1 page sites that are sooooooooooooooooo looooooooooong… and they never mention the price until 2 lines from the end
