Pips calculation goes wrong?

Hi there, first post after a couples a month on the site ^^ . Hope you’re doing great with your trading!

My question is simple. I was calculating how much pips could i risk with 30cents (2% of my 1500 cents account on liteforex) on the EUR/USD at 1.4246 with a mini lots (10k) .

If i do the math myself i got this: a 0.70 pip value. So about 42 pips lost to bust out the 2% limit on the account. Maybe to much for a stoploss for a daytrader but the question is not there ^^ .

Why all the pips value i get from either Trading Tools - Mataf or Pip Calculator | Forex Pip Value Calculator is 1.00/pip ??

Thanks

The value of a pip for a mini EUR/USD contract is $1.00 (10,000 x $0.0001). I don’t know where you’re coming up with $0.70.

oh nevermind. Cause i was looking to this on a website:

Using USDJPY as an example, this yields:

(.01/130.46) x USD10,000 = $0.77

or 77 cents per pip

Using EURUSD as an example, we have:

(.0001/.8942) x EUR10,000 = EUR 1.1183

But we want the pip value in USD, so we then must multiply EUR1.1183 x (EURUSD exchange rate):

EUR 1.1183 x .8942 = $1.00

But the resulet i had of the 0.70 is the pip value in Euro, my mistake sorry ^^
