Yeah MT4 does the job for me across all of my brokers. Have a few friends that use cTrader and swear by it though.
I use tradingview after testing mt4, traderevolution, and tradingview.

MT5 is the next level platform in the MetaTrader platform series. Despite maintaining many MT4 features, there are several improvements and direct changes that have been included. There is still a lot of confusion about what Metaquotes wants to do with MT4 and MT5. Originally launched as a substitute for MT4, MT5 found it difficult to achieve the type of market penetration that MT4 acquired.

I think if they phase out MT4 for MT5 and brokers more widely adopt it then I will of course move over but while it is the way it is I will carry on with MT4 for sure.
yea i know i feel comfortbale with mt4 and outlay is also really good of mt4
I’ve stuck with MT4 for years now and I don’t feel the need to change it.

my broker have his own platform, the orders are passed directly from them to the market without using intermediary.
its the same configurations as mt4 (you can draw chart , pass orders ) and there is even more tools like details about the order you pass. for exemple when you buy 0.10 lots of audusd you can know : the exact margin , the contract value ,etc
I also can calculate the required lot size and the presumed money that i risk by putting SL at a certain level just with two clicks (without even positioning)

Never bother to look for any other than MT4 since it’s a global platform across all brokers. I also use tradingview sometimes for watching chart, no way to defeat that.

tradingview is my trading journal where i draw and save all chart, write the reasons why i took the trade
then i pass the order to XTB
I always do like that , it permit me to temporize things: not passing orders out of fomo, saving my charts and reviewing what i’ve done wrong, having more discipline, etc
MT5, because I also trade stocks besides forex and I don’t think that’s a possibility with MT4. Plus MT5 is better because it has more indicators and charts. I think it’s good for customising.
