i am totally fresh and new trading forex and would appreciate it if everyone would advise me as to which books I should purchase that will help with my FX journey

Hi Avy! I’m so excited for you and I wish you succeed in this endeavor.
Follow these steps:
- Start with the School of Pipsology ( Learn Forex Trading at School of Pipsology - BabyPips.com )
- Open a demo account with a broker (I suggest Oanda)
- Browse YouTube to learn how to use your trading software (MT4 is most commonly used and it is free)
- Practice on your demo account as you learn
- Ask questions in the forum at any time to clear away any confusion
- Pick one or more strategies and trade in your demo account until you are consistently profitable for at least 3 - 6 months
- Fund your real account with a small sum and begin trading
