Question on 'Rate'

Hi Guys,

I am currently playing around with a Demo Account, through Admiral Markets MT5 - using Stocks and Shares.

When calculating the Margin, my calculations are coming in correct - but then there is a ‘Rate’ which is added. It seems this Rate is a multiple of the Margin.

For example in the screenshot below, the ‘Rate’ is 2.8 for APPL, dividing the ‘used margin’ of £8,576.29 by the Margin works out to be what it is.

I guess there are to questions:

  1. What is this Rate? I guess it’s the Broker’s Risk Multiple?

  2. How do I find this Rate before putting in a Trade? The Admiral Website doesn’t show the ‘Rate’ - unless I’m missing something?

Thanks in advance!

Sorry I can’t answer your questions directly as I am unfamiliar with their description of rate and why they publish that to the screen. It may be a good idea to try out their support chat line or other. Ask them this question directly - what does the rate mean and how can I calculate my total cost of entering a trade?

Depending on their quality and timeliness of response, that may be a good indicator of whether they are a worthwhile broker or not.
