A friend of mine introduced me to forex 2 months ago created a live account and started diving in without really knowing what to do . Lost some money made some money broke even and i stopped for the last month . I promised myself to dive deep in being more knowlegable on forex and trading . I am here to learn and soak it all in and hopefully in a couple months start diving back into my account with confidence this way i dont get to emotional with it . My goals is to free up more time for my family and be able to make an income worthy enough for me to comfortably leave my job . Hello all! My name is Stephanie, I’m from OKC and am a complete newbie to Forex. I’ve been soaking up all the info I can and practicing on demo accounts, but I still have so many questions and am just waiting for everything to “click” or make sense. I’ve been trading Forex on and off for about a year now. I came across Forex after a guest speaker introduced us to Forex at a stock trading seminar that I attended. I immediately got hooked with the idea about trading different currency pairs and I liked the idea of how fast the Forex market was.
Without prior knowledge on Forex, I was trading blindly, which led me to keep depositing more capital to my trading account. That also led me to blow up my newly deposited account week after week. I had lost about six hundred dollars at this point.
I had my first breakthrough when I was trading 1 lot sized positions on a thousand dollar account and was able to flip my account to over 100% within a week. I thought to myself, “Maybe with this style of scalping, I wouldn’t have to worry about working for another month or two!”. I was overwhelmed with the flow of profits and had already reached my monthly goal.
However, I had been too greedy and imagined myself making another 100% of my initial deposit. When my country underwent lockdown due to the rise of COVID, the price of XAUUSD had also been dropping and my bias was that XAUUSD was going up.
This ate away my account little by little because the spread of XAUUSD had been very wide that placing a position would give me immediate doubts. At this point, I knew that I had overleveraged myself and had the mentality of revenge trading. I blew over four thousand worth of deposits just to burn them off from revenge trading.
I had been very frustrated of my actions that my self-confidence dropped significantly. I thought about quitting Forex and even my parents convinced me to stop. I knew my mistakes, but I kept doing it. But for some odd reason, I didn’t want to drop it completely and told myself to keep trying. Without failure, there can be no success, right?
Since 2021 has started, the month of January has been rough, but I would like to take my time and educate myself properly through this website. I’ve also had books to help me in trading, but I never really got to read them properly. I do hope that the 2021 will be a successful year, whether I cover all my losses or half of it.
For those who are struggling to be a profitable trader, keep fighting! I’ll keep rooting for you, because success doesn’t come immediately. I believe we can make it up there!
