Hi I’m nearing the end of the School of Pipsology and was wondering if the Country Profiles section remains fully accurate despite being written in 2012. Can anyone shed some light on how these economies have changed lately?
heya. the profiles remain the same. the fundamental approaches to the economies (the main products of the industries, the GDPs the way the economies are build up [full capitalism like in USA, or semi socialism like in EU, or communism paired with a semi-free market like in china] stay the same).
the only thing that can be added is that the EU got a sligtly lower GDP compared to 2012 but that is due to the fact that GDP is calculated on USDOLLAR and the dolar gained in value between 2012 and today by around 30% so defacto even that didnt change and the EU stays by GDP the biggest economy on the world, even with the higher USD.
and in 2 weeks we will see if EU has 28 or 27 member states as brexit vote is 23rd june where UK decides to stay in or leave the European Union.
