Greetings Everyone,

I wanted to ask everyone about goal setting in relationship to forex. Goal setting is a powerful way to motivate oneself and ensure that one stays on track. If you don’t set goals, how can you develop a plan? And if you don’t develop a plan, what will you base your actions on? Furthermore, if you have no target to aim at, how will you measure your progress?

Goal setting is important for every aspect in life. Many people measure their success in the market by comparing their current account balance to yesterday’s account balance. If it’s higher, they are making progress. If not, they are going backwards or standing still. Unfortunately, it is not that simple. You need to know exactly how much or how little you have progressed or fallen backwards. That way, you know whether to keep trading or not.

I’m not here to give you all a lesson on goals. We all know they are an important part of life and hopefully they are an important part of your trading.

My question to all of you is — What kind of goals do you guys set for yourselves?

Daily Pip Goals?
Weekly?
Monthly?

Or do you aim to increase your equity by x% over x amount of time?

Just curious. I look forward to hearing your responses.

oh, all the normal ones

4 homes in varied climates and locations to provide warm or cold weather enjoyment.

the obligatory 150’ yacht, as any larger begins to become a pain, but most in that size class can be parked at your own dock in ft. lauderdale, or in the keys.

a brace of women whose enjoyment in life is to see YOUR enjoyment in life.

I wont go into cars, as ive had all that already, but am more interested in simply being chauffered around, especially with the brace of women !

of course, all the minor situations in life are to be taken care of, eliminating such tedium as washing clothes, dishes or yourself (hot tub, soap and the brace of women take care of that)

as you can see, after a few years of life, precious little remains for one who has experienced so much, but a few things do enter into the equation every now and again !

life is to be loved and lived — especially with a lot of love !
