SIA's Trading Journal - 2025

Hi all, for everyone who’s following along, I documented my Q1 and Q2 2025 trading journals on the following threads:

Q1 2025: Journal - Q1 2025 - S&D Zones - #20 by StartGoldTrading
Q2 2025: SIA's Trading Journal - Q2 2025 - #71 by StartGoldTrading

Moving forward in 2025, I will combine Q3 and Q4 into this one single thread.

Trade SL-ed. As usual, mark out zones, mechanical entry, however, same problem, price action went to EP area under 3 pips and exhausted liquidity up to 30 pips. Correct action would be to cancel off limit order.

Trade SL-ed. Price seems to be unusually one-sided today. May have to consider fundamental factors in place.

Trade SL-ed. Today I attempted to give a buffer zone of +3 pips from my zone, and price goes to about +3 pips from my buffered +3 EP, retraced sufficiently and went down and SL-ed my trade. I will go through my past losing trades and see whether I will need to adjust my buffer zone to at least 5-10 pips.

Trade SL-ed. Technical factors seems to be overridden by fundamentals. Will look more into my recent trades.

Trade TP-ed. Revised the price level structure and simplified it. It’s working for now. Will continue to observe the validity.

Trade SL-ed twice in a row. Done with 3 trades for the day, will look into the trades later during a review session.

Trade TP-ed. Simplified the marked price levels and considering to reduce the amount of trades per day I plan to initiate.

Trade SL-ed. Trade entered, price action whiplashed, but failed to hold the reversal and went to SL. Trade details noted. Proceed to setup other limit orders.

Today was interesting. First trade, price went to 2 pips, retraced strongly, went back to EP and SL-ed. Was busy with work so I missed out on cancelling the trade. Second trade, price went in, went near to TP about 2 pips, retraced strongly and went SL. Third trade was a simple EP and TP.

3 Trades today, two market executions and one limit order, no guessing which ones SL-ed and which ones TP-ed. 2 SLs, 1 TP.

Sometimes, all it takes to remind myself that my system works is bare the brunt of impatience and face the consequences.

It started well in the morning with a regular zone TP, afterwards, an unexpected crash in the market price resulted in my second and third trades to SL. No high impact news, just pure market momentum, highly possible due to fundamental factors. Will go through the trades later to pinpoint crucial factors.

After trading daily for about 6 months in a row, I’m feeling a little burnt out so I will be taking a short break before resuming my trading activities. I will resume on July, meanwhile, wishing everyone a sustainable trading journey in 2025!
