Hey just to check a couple of things.

When you add the EA are you using settings like this:

Untitled.bmp (21.4 KB)

and ensure the EA is active, the EA should have a smiley face next to the EA on screen.

The ex4 files are the compiled files. Providing EA’s are in the MT4/experts and indicators are in the MT4/experts/indicators folder?

simply closing and re-openning MT4 will create the ex4 files.

Is this all correct?

I started a new branch on the initial EA trunk because adding the fibs was kinda major refurbishment. Now it is v2

Blizard - ZZ_v2_w_fibs.zip (4.05 KB)

I backtested in USDCAD M5 and it was average-to-good, but on EURUSD worked awesome 10k ended up being 11k on the period!!

Give it a run and comment on it

EDIT: To use fib SL and TP, set the parameter use_fibs_sl_tp to true. It is false by default.

Oh btw I found in the backtest that some times the SL and TP are not set because they are too tight (I guess for my broker, can it be for any broker?) and the order closes due to smart exit. I need to figure out a contingency plan for these situations, we should not have orders without SL or TP… Any ideas on this?

Awesome thanks Tonakka, i haven’t used either version of your EA yet, but quick question, is this EA intended as a visual guide so we trade manually or would we use the EA to trade automatically for us?

Also im asumeing unless im wrong, with everything going on with the indecision with Greece and euro it would most likely be a bad time for any EA at present?

(im not doubting your work, just as things have looked quite uncertain over the last week, but i guess with no decisive vote last week and waiting for the vote this week, indecision will be until they vote yes or no ?)

no worries, even with a 1000% profit on backtest I would never let any EA run unattended Also, with everything that is going on in Europe these days, graphs are hectic these days… but maybe I should explain the change log on the EA. I just got the original blizzard EA (first page of this thread) and:

1. added the horizontal line (as a graphical aid for manual intervention) on HH and LL levels. It does not generate signals
2. made the trade signal arrows optional not to clutter up the chart
3. modified to add a TP on the 161 fib level on orders

So the behavior is the same as the original, plus a bit more control on TP and SL, and you can still use the classics with use_fibs set to false.

I have it running at the moment on a forward test with my demo account to see whether to trust it or not for a master candidate

Next what I would like to do is actually use the HH and LL lines for the trade signals, at the moment they are just visual aid, but they have a lot of potential as seen already.

Hello, very interesting webinar early today. Thanks for the great turnout. A did manage to eventually get our 15-20 pips. A little range bound early but it finally did brake and we did catch a nice trade that we were doubled up on. Cant wait to scalp again tonight. Ill try to put some of the setups together in a video, just have to go through the hours of video and edit it.

Thanks, i guess this week is not a good trading week with Greece not deciding on the vote last sunday and spain announcing they need a bail out. Maybe once Greece has decided one way or another trading will be slightly more predictable, plus if your EA does well today going into a friday and the Greek election on sunday then it does sound quite promising!

I have noticed differences between Hot Forex and AAAFX, why not have the SL and TP so if it will not set as default, then the EA try’s to modify the order with +1 pip SL and +1 pip TP, if this does not work, tries to modify the order with +2 pips?

I have one EA that will close trades when they hit a certain SL and TP, it does not modify the open orders, just closes them if they meet the conditions. I have attached the EA below if it helps with ideas.
