Hi Richard,
After reactivating MS last Friday I got 6 trades and… 6 losses. Small losses, that’s true, but losses…
I had to close the orders by hand 2 or 3 minutes before close because FridayEndTradeCheck=True did nothing. I think it should have closed all orders automaically.
FridayEndTrade.hr=20 and FridayEndTrade.mi=30.
It must be me… I don’t get any kind of good results with MS…

Hey mendonca, who’s your broker and are you using the default settings?

My broker is XTB and, yes, I’m using all the default values.
MS has now open 4 more trades and all of them are losses, and now they are not all that small…
This is not a scalper and 1 or 2 pips difference shouldn’t make all the difference but MS can´t manage to make any of my orders go into profit.

I have 7 MS trades open right now and they are all under a loss…but it doesn’t bother me anymore because they almost always go into a loss before recovering. I haven’t had a MS closed trade as a loss since the 8th (USDJPY). I see that XTB allows scalping but it isn’t an ECN broker. Does this have anything to do with it? Do you have a Myfxbook link to your account that we can see?

Tim

Yes I have a MyFxBook account but my account has a lot of other different moves from other EAs and manual trades. Sorry… not to be shared.
And as I write this 2 EURGBP and 2 EURCAD orders continue their dive…

Mendonca,

me too, just losses. btw. i bought a trading robot because i was hoping that the robot doesn’t need to be babysitted all the time!! the robot must shut down open orders by itself when it should do so!!!

please, robert…please make an update as soon as possible! i am loosing “some” money.

Good for you, because mine go into loss before loosing some more…

The EAs currently have 11 open trades on my live account, and while two are in profit (2 Sells on EUR/USD) those two trades are covering the remaining 9 and my equity is just over my balance (positive). Mrql and Mendonca, have you contacted support and/or arranged for a remote session to verify your settings?

IBFX call themselves an STP broker (Straight Through Processing) which from what I can tell is something between a traditional dealing desk and an ECN. Their spreads aren’t as good as VantageFX or OANDA, but their price feed doesn’t seem to be as smoothed out, especially compared to OANDAs, but that could because the OANDA account I’ve got is only a demo…

I’ve contacted the Smart FX team a few times, with minor questions and they have all been answered to my satisfaction, and although this is only week 3 for me, I would not hesitate to recommend these EAs. If you haven’t tried their support, then I suggest you do, failing that, maybe it’s time to consider either a different EA for your broker(s) or a different broker for this EA. Just throwing out ideas…

Sorry, I was trying to offer some help… Nevermind

I think this month Master Scalper is going very well… Does your broker support microlots ?
I had loss before becacause my previous broker only support mini lots.
And your account equity is important also. Check it.

Cheers

Sorry for my answer… You’re right. I was irritated and shouldn’t have answered that way.
I understand you wanted to be of help but I’m using MS since mid November and just got some profits in the first 15 days of usage. I’ve already tweaked it a lot and already lost some relevant money with it although I see reports of nice gains posted here.
Just to be fair, 6 of the orders that were in loss are now only 4 because 2 of them (EURGBP) closed with a small profit each one.

im testing simultaneusly on pepperstone fxcm hotforex and alpari.

maybe it can be useful to you

sorry, I am a bit confusoed with your comment. IBFX is not suitable for this EA?

Sorry for the confusion, I was just trying to state that I’ve had good success with these two EAs on IBFX; it’s just that IBFX doesn’t classify themselves as a Market Maker or ECN, they say they are STP which is something I haven’t seen a lot of. My only complaint about IBFX is that their spreads aren’t as low as some of the other brokers (they are not the highest either), but they’ve been good to deal with and I trust them.

Hey no worries! I can understand your frustration. I apologize if my answer seemed brash. It wasn’t meant to be! My point that I so terribly tried to point out was that we’re using the same code, the same market. Whats left? I think filipebr might be on to something. Plus I’m a firm believer to NOT tweak on the settings. I personally feel if the settings could be better then SmartFX would have them as default. Plus I don’t intervene the trading. Even over the weekends. I’ve tested on 5 different brokers. Some did better than others. One did VERY bad. I’ve commented on them in the thread. One thing is for sure. This thread, the other users, and the experience of these EA’s has taught me a lot regarding other aspects of Forex than just trading. I want to thank them all!

I hope you get your problem worked out. Patience can be as much of a friend as the trend!

Tim

Dego Red!

Beautiful Airplane! I’ve had the pleasure of seeing it a couple times at the airport where I work. Welcome to the thread. I like your idea of the info. Not sure if it’ll catch on or not. Seems like we all repeat a lot of this information. I’ll give it a try and add mine to my sig.

Hi fellow pip hunters
I am currently trading a live HF micro acc with these two EAs. I want to deposit $2000 to my acc. Is it better to stay on micro or go premium with these EAs. Also what leverage to use.

Thanks

Hi Traders,
DegoRed, if you want to skip Fridays altogether, just change the FridayClose settings to 0:00 and it will not trade at all.
We do not close positions at loss except for the Breakeven settings before the London session. All tests over the year show that this would lose money.
Just as a case in point, every one of the trades of last weekend cleared at profit. Surely other times it loses some. But in the long run we make money allowing them to trade. Naturally you can override them, not trade at all, close them at loss, whatever you feel is best… weekends are a very personal issue, most traders disagree on this issue.

Mendonca, the settings to StopFriday refer to entering new orders. We do not close orders before Friday, just stop entering new ones.

Christopha,
Use their Currenex account, stay with micro lots.

You’re absolutely right. But if money systematically evaporates from your account… well… at the end of the day it doesn’t matter how much patience you still have…
