Spreadbetting brokers

I seem to see quite a few threads on FX brokers but don’t tend to see any on Spreadbetting (I’m in the UK so may as well use spreadbetting to avoid any possible taxes). I’ve been demo’ing on FXCM spreadbetting but have read lots of reviews on here saying to stay well clear of them so I will take on that advice. Anyway, I had a look on google for recommended spread betting brokers but they all seem to be online which puts me off a little bit but I would be quite happy to use FXCM as charting software, then an online broker so that’s not the end of the world.

Basically, are there any recommended spread betting brokers that are as popular as Oanda seem to be for the regular forex guys?

Edit:

Ok, I’ve been looking at IG index and they seem pretty good, although the 2 types of accounts they offer, ‘Plus’ and ‘Limited risk’ have me a little confused. The main advantage of the limited risk account is the guaranteed stop loss, but would you not get that with any account you open, not only with IG index but any other companies?

many of the retail spread betting companies are crap to be honest , there is a new white label company of the London Capital Group called PRO SPREADS i have demoed there platform and it seem very good, it takes a lot of getting used to but has lots of benifits, my only concern is every company that falls under LCG that i have used has been crap, because pro spreads claim to be a Direct access with no requotes at all, i would mind giving them a shot just to test them out,

however on all spread betting companies so far i have found them all to have major faults, oh and avoid capital spreads like the plague,"also a white label company of LCG

If there is a guaranteed stop loss, the broker is most likely executing trades through a dealing desk. Also, for limited risk accounts and guaranteed stop losses, there will also sometimes be restrictions on where the stop can be placed and/or an additional fee or spread cost for placing the guaranteed stop loss.
