Success trading 2-3 hours a day?

Hello all,

I recently went through the babypips program and am pretty excited to get started with my paper account. I work full time as a consultant and thus I am usually at clients where I cannot get through their firewall with my online broker and as a result I can really only trade from 8:30pm ish until 11:30pm Central Time and on Sundays from 3pm until 6ish. What currencies would be recommended for these time periods? Additionally is it possible to find trends in such a short time period (I know it is but is it realistic) or would it be more beneficial to try to swing trade?

Has anyone found the trading programs that people post useful? I figure it might be a good idea to try a few of them so I can get a better understanding of how the different indicators work.

Thank you all in advance

With your time constraints, unless you plan to try to scalp in your limited time, I think swing trading is the best route for you.

Personally, I’m limited as well. I use Metatrader Mobile to monitor my action during the day and have an EA running at my home computer to sniff out those trades I otherwise wouldn’t have been able to find.

I’d suggest finding a trading system that suits your style on a 4hr or greater time chart.

Agreed. Swing or position trading is probably the best option given your time limitations.

Thanks for the advice. I have been looking into MetaTrader Mobile and an EA. I have several questions. Basically my understanding of the EA is that you create a program and the EA based on parameters will execute a trade when the market conditions match up? Regarding the MetaTrader Mobile, does it simply allow you to read your charts or does it allow you to execute trades? I guess what I am really getting at is, is it possible for your EA to text/email you when the parameters you want are present and then you check the MetaTrader Mobile charts to see if conditions are right and then execute from the MetaTrader Mobile?

Additionally, do you actually trader through MetaTrader or does it run through your brokerage account and can you execute less than 1 lot trades?

Lastly, is Meta trader a one time fee or does it have a monthly cost?

Thanks once again
