hi all,
it’s 10:45 am and i am finished for the day. it has been another one of those grinders. i placed a number of trades today and it turned out to be nicely profitable. first to answer several questions, i use oanda and the spreads for u/chf range from 2-4, usually. also, i place the trade at the 05, or 00, above/below the candle that crossed the 10 ema’s close, regardless of direction of 10 ema. today’s trades:
8:24 short at 1.1640
8:55 exit at 1.1657, crossed and closed above 10 ema -17
8:59 long at 1.1665
9:05 exit at break even, 1.1665, had been +11, never allow winner to turn to loser. there will be other trades.
9:23 short at 1.1645
9:43 exit at 1.1628 THERE IS NO REAL RULE FOR CLOSING THIS TRADE. IT HAS TO DO WITH MY TRADING STYLE. U/CHF HAD BEEN DOWN TO 21, IF FOLLOWING WITH A 10 TRAIL STOP I SHOULD HAVE GOTTEN OUT AT 31, HOWEVER, I CHOSE THE 28 EXIT, SPECIFICALLY TO ELIMINATE THE EARLIER -17. THUS, AFTER CLOSING I AM BACK TO BREAK EVEN, O, FOR THE DAY. I DO THIS TO BENEFIT My PSYCHE. YOU MAY NOT HAVE TO, THIS IS MY TRADING STYLE.
10:01 long at 1.1670
10:07 exit at 1.1693 this is another curious exit per my rules. however, as the price quickly shot up to 1.1713, while i was moving my trail/stop to 10, i got closed out at 93. i simply wasn’t fast enough. i am not complaining as there is nothing wrong with a +23 pips.
10:20 short at 1.1665
10:21 exit at 1.1665 at break even, had been to 1.1655, used trail/stop of 10 after being up 10
10:22 long at 1.1675
10:25 exit at 1.1667 on a close below the 10 ema, -8 on trade +15 for the day. i was thinking about quitting but decided to do one more trade. i’m glad i did.
10:33 short at 1.1660
10:43 exit at 1.1637, using trail stop of 10, it had been as low as 27 +23
positive total for the day, + 38, +417, since inception.
have a great day.
