$2 Billion in debt. Couldn’t get a rescue package secured. Very very sad to hear about this. And the 600k travelers affected worldwide by it’s collapse. What a nightmare for them. Unbelievable!

The government has already said the cost of refunding future bookings under the Atol scheme will be around £420m. In addition, it will cost tens of millions of pounds to repay hoteliers who have lost out and there is an estimated bill of £100m for chartering 1,000 flights to return Thomas Cook customers to the UK
